PMS 5467 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) standard color that is recognized for its dark and restrained character, often described as professional, muted, neutral, and cool. This shade is part of the Pantone PMS collection, which is widely used in marketing, display fabrication, and industrial design where precise color communication and consistency are demanded. The overall vibe of PMS 5467 C is technical, reserved, and authoritative.

PMS 5467 C appears distinctly dark; it has a very low light reflectance value (LRV 2.99).

The color has a cool undertone, leaning strongly toward blue-green rather than yellow or olive.

PMS 5467 C is muted, with low chroma, resulting in a subdued, non-vivid effect.

The undertone is deep teal; subtle blue is evident, particularly under neutral daylight.

The color’s darkness and low saturation make it less sensitive to finish, though gloss may subtly emphasize its depth.

PMS 5467 C works well in environments requiring an authoritative or neutral brand presence, such as corporate identity elements, institutional branding, and professional displays. When applying this color, ensure sufficient contrast against surrounding elements, as its darkness can result in low visibility against black or other dark hues. Surface preparation is critical due to the color’s low reflectance—flaws and defects can be more visible in deep, matte finishes, while higher-gloss finishes might highlight subtle undertones. Compared to similar dark greens, PMS 5467 C will read cooler and less saturated, particularly under artificial lighting, which may shift its apparent undertone.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 5463 C is lighter and slightly less neutral, with a more apparent blue shift.
  • PMS 5535 C is warmer and greener, lacking the cool, blue-cast depth of 5467 C.
  • PMS 553 C is also dark but features more olive undertones, making it earthier than PMS 5467 C.
  • PMS 5545 C is lighter and more subdued, appearing softer and less intense overall.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 5467 C

How does surface texture affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 5467 C?

For PMS 5467 C, which is a dark and muted Pantone color, the surface texture can change how the color is perceived. A glossy or smooth finish may make PMS 5467 C look deeper and slightly more intense, while a matte or rough texture can cause it to appear slightly lighter or less saturated due to diffuse reflection and increased shadowing. Because PMS 5467 C has a low light reflectance value, any surface flaws or inconsistent textures may become more visible, especially under strong lighting. Always evaluate samples on the intended surface to confirm visual results before finalizing production for brand or display projects.

What should I know about using Pantone PMS 5467 C matched paint on plastics or low energy surfaces?

When applying PMS 5467 C paint to plastics or low-surface-energy materials, adhesion can vary widely based on the type of plastic and its preparation. Many plastics require a specialty primer or surface treatment for lasting adhesion. It is important to test the Pantone PMS 5467 C paint and primer system on your exact material before moving to full production. This approach helps verify that both color accuracy and coating performance meet your brand and project requirements. Failure to test can lead to peeling, poor color presentation, or inconsistent brand results on signage or display components.

What determines the shipping transit time for Pantone PMS 5467 C paint orders?

The shipping transit time for PMS 5467 C paint orders depends on your delivery location, the shipping method you select, and overall order processing time. If your project requires PMS 5467 C for a brand installation or display, plan ahead to accommodate potential transit and production lead times, especially if a deadline is critical. While expedited shipping options may be available, it is safest to allow flexibility in your project schedule. Review shipping options and plan for potential delays to ensure that PMS 5467 C is on site when needed.

Are there special coverage or hide considerations when using Pantone PMS 5467 C paint?

PMS 5467 C is a dark, low-chroma color and does not have the coverage challenges sometimes seen with highly saturated or vivid Pantone colors. However, because it has a low light reflectance value, it may take more coats to fully hide lighter substrates or to achieve a uniform appearance if applied over uneven surfaces. For the most consistent brand presentation, use a suitable primer or base coat matched to the final target, and always perform a test application to check coverage before starting full-scale production.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 5467 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
