PMS 526 C is a color standard from the Pantone PMS collection, known for its deep, saturated, and vivid purple appearance. It is frequently described as striking, technical, modern, and highly visible, with a distinct cool undertone and a commanding presence in display and branding contexts.
PMS 526 C appears dark in value, supported by a low LRV of 5.09. The color exhibits a cool tendency, with the underlying purple hue shifting slightly toward blue. It shows high chroma, resulting in a vivid and strong color presence. The undertone of PMS 526 C is distinctly blue-violet, which can become more pronounced under cool or daylight illumination. The color is sensitive to finish; differences in gloss or matte can change the perceived depth and vibrancy.
PMS 526 C works well in environments requiring high visual impact and brand differentiation, such as feature signage, pop-up installations, or trade show displays. When specifying this color, careful consideration should be given to finish selection, as higher gloss can intensify its saturation while matte may subdue its vibrancy. Strong artificial or daylight sources may emphasize its blue-violet undertone, so it is important to check physical paint samples alongside Pantone guides in the actual lighting conditions where the color will be viewed.

To ensure you are referencing the correct version of Pantone PMS 526 C, always check your organization''s brand standards or documentation for the exact code. Pantone colors can include suffixes like ''C'' for coated or ''U'' for uncoated, which identify different reference standards and may affect appearance. Confirm all details before ordering to maintain consistency and avoid costly miscommunication in brand-facing projects.
Sampling is recommended for Pantone PMS 526 C whenever you are working on high-visibility branding projects, large installations, or when finish and lighting may influence color appearance. Because vivid colors like PMS 526 C can display strong variations based on substrate and illumination, reviewing a physical sample under project lighting ensures your final installation aligns with brand expectations.
Whether you need a primer for Pantone PMS 526 C depends on your substrate, the selected paint type, and project demands. Primers are generally recommended for bare surfaces, challenging substrates, or to achieve consistent coverage with highly saturated shades like PMS 526 C. Correct priming improves adhesion and uniformity, especially on surfaces that may otherwise promote uneven color or sheen. Refer to application guidance for your substrate or contact support for substrate-specific recommendations.
Pantone PMS 526 C is often specified in environments where a vivid, distinctive purple creates strong brand presence in displays, signage, or activations. While specific associations depend on client disclosure, this color is chosen for projects requiring a technical and commanding visual identity, especially where brand differentiation and consistency are priorities.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
