PMS 5225 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, a global standard for specifying consistent colors in branding and manufacturing applications. This color exhibits a muted, medium-light lavender tone characterized by a subtle, soft appearance. The vibe is subdued, reserved, sophisticated, and slightly cool, supporting branding environments where visual restraint is essential and overt chromaticity is not desired.
PMS 5225 C appears medium-light in value (LRV 46.7).
The color presents a cool tendency, influenced by its lavender hue.
The saturation is guarded; it shows noticeable color presence without strong chroma.
Undertones are muted violet with an underlying grayish character.
The color is moderately sensitive to finish; matte surfaces will appear softer and more muted, while gloss finishes may enhance its subtle chromaticity.
PMS 5225 C is used where a controlled, understated lavender serves the design intent, such as in branding elements, display backgrounds, or environments that require a modern, sophisticated appearance without high-energy color. Its muted profile maintains legibility and visual hierarchy when paired with both light and darker contrasting colors. Under different lighting conditions and finishes, expect observable shifts—ambient lighting can emphasize the gray undertone, while brighter or whiter light may make the lavender aspect more evident. Compared to other mid-light muted violets, PMS 5225 C remains less saturated and less likely to overpower neighboring elements.

PMS 5225 C paint is formulated to match the Pantone reference as closely as possible, but visual differences can occur. Pantone books use ink on paper as a standard, while paint appearance will change with sheen, substrate, application, and lighting. For critical branding projects, always review a sample of PMS 5225 C paint on your actual material and under the lighting conditions where it will be used before committing to large-scale work.
The safety and VOC characteristics of PMS 5225 C paint depend on the specific product type and format you select. Always review the safety data sheet (SDS) for your chosen product before use, follow all handling instructions, and ensure suitable ventilation and personal protective equipment are in place as recommended. Reach out if you need the SDS for a particular PMS 5225 C formulation.

Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 5225 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
