PMS 3955 C from the Pantone PMS collection is a saturated, high-visibility fluorescent yellow-green. The color has a technical, intense, eye-catching, and contemporary vibe. With an LRV of 72.07, it is visually striking and energetic, designed to stand out in print and physical environments where maximum visibility and color fidelity are operationally important.
PMS 3955 C is very light and bright, with a high LRV (72.07). The color has a cool yellow-green tendency, sitting near the yellow-green transition on the hue spectrum. PMS 3955 C is extremely saturated and chromatic, resulting in a high-impact, luminous appearance. The undertone is clean, vivid, and slightly acidic, with minimal warmth. This color is sensitive to finish; gloss or satin can intensify its vibrancy, while matte may slightly reduce perceived saturation.
PMS 3955 C is often specified for safety signage, temporary display features, and marketing applications where extreme visibility is required. The color is frequently used in brand activations, sporting events, and trade show graphics demanding high-emphasis zones.
PMS 3955 C performs well as a highlight or key visual element where strong visibility is needed, particularly under controlled lighting or in environments where color consistency is essential. Its vibrancy makes it a good choice for locations with ample illumination, as lower light can reduce its fluorescent appearance. Due to the high chroma, it may require additional coats for complete coverage, especially over contrasting surfaces. Careful substrate preparation and finish selection are critical, as changes in sheen or surface texture will noticeably influence perceived color intensity.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

The appearance of PMS 3955 C can shift noticeably under different lighting sources, such as daylight, fluorescent, or LED lighting. For a brand-consistent result, always evaluate PMS 3955 C using a physical Pantone reference and a painted sample under the actual lighting at your installation site. Because this color is highly fluorescent and vibrant, its visibility and brightness may look more intense or more subdued depending on the type and quality of light. To minimize surprises, approve color samples in the environment and lighting where the paint will be used.
For PMS 3955 C, select an interior or exterior paint based on where it will be used and the required durability. For indoor brand displays and marketing installations, interior paint is usually suitable. For outdoor signage or brand features exposed to weather and sunlight, use an exterior-rated version of PMS 3955 C to maximize performance and longevity. Always confirm with your supplier which paint format and finish meet the environmental and appearance needs of your project.
PMS 3955 C is an extremely saturated and bright yellow-green, which means it typically offers lower hide compared to more muted colors. This is common for vivid Pantone shades. Expect to apply two or more coats to achieve full, uniform coverage, especially when painting over contrasting or dark surfaces. Proper surface preparation helps, and a suitable primer can improve results and reduce the number of required coats for PMS 3955 C.
For important branding projects using PMS 3955 C, order a small painted sample on your actual substrate or a close match. Review the sample under the same lighting and finish as the final installation. This allows your team or stakeholders to approve the appearance before full production. Sampling is especially important for bright Pantone colors like PMS 3955 C, where lighting, finish, and substrate can noticeably affect the outcome. This step helps avoid unexpected color shifts and supports brand consistency.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
