PMS 373 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) standard color from the Pantone PMS collection. It displays a notably light and luminous yellow-green with a fresh, vibrant, and energetic vibe. The color is frequently described as youthful, modern, clean, and attention-grabbing while maintaining a distinctly technical and controlled presence.

PMS 373 C appears very light and bright; its LRV is 74.16.

The color is visually cool with a pronounced yellow undertone, giving it a vivid, near-neon quality.

PMS 373 C shows high chroma and saturation, providing a clear, distinct tone rather than a muted or grayed effect.

The undertone strongly favors yellow, making the color look more yellow-green than pure green.

PMS 373 C is sensitive to finish and lighting; gloss levels and surrounding colors may significantly affect perceived intensity.

PMS 373 C works well for brand elements or displays that need to stand out, convey freshness, or attract immediate attention. Because of its lightness and high chroma, proper surface preparation is required to ensure uniform color coverage; multiple coats may be needed, especially over dark or uneven substrates. Lighting conditions, including both ambient and direct light, can shift the visual appearance—always review final color under expected site conditions. This color will appear much lighter and more saturated than most standard greens, making it less suitable for settings requiring subtlety or low contrast.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 372 C: Lighter and more subdued, with even higher yellow content.
  • PMS 374 C: Slightly deeper and more chromatic, reads as a stronger green with less yellow cast.
  • PMS 375 C: Considerably deeper and more saturated, presents as a classic, brighter green rather than yellow-green.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 373 C

How is Pantone PMS 373 C used to create consistent brand experiences?

Pantone PMS 373 C is specified in brand standards to ensure that logos, displays, and branded environments communicate a unified identity, regardless of vendor or material. By using PMS 373 C, organizations can achieve predictable, recognizable visual results across marketing displays, signage, prototypes, and experiential installations. Ordering paint or coatings by PMS 373 C helps teams deliver a true brand color match aligned with the intended look and feel across touchpoints.

What should I know to achieve a uniform finish when applying PMS 373 C over large areas?

PMS 373 C is a very light, saturated yellow-green that may require careful application for even coverage, especially over dark or uneven substrates. To maintain color uniformity on large surfaces, always use consistent surface preparation, apply primer when needed, and plan for multiple coats to achieve full hide without patchiness. Work methodically in manageable sections and keep a wet edge to reduce overlap marks. Whenever possible, evaluate the finish as it dries to catch inconsistencies early.

Will PMS 373 C look the same under different lighting conditions?

PMS 373 C is sensitive to lighting, and its appearance can shift depending on ambient and direct light. Light sources such as daylight, fluorescent, or LED may change the visual intensity and undertone of this color. For brand and display applications, always review PMS 373 C samples under the lighting found at the final installation site to ensure the color meets expectations in real use. This helps avoid surprises due to metamerism or finish differences.

Are there special considerations when matching PMS 373 C on metal or powder-coated parts?

When applying PMS 373 C to metal or previously powder-coated parts, proper surface preparation is key to achieving a consistent brand appearance. Clean the surface thoroughly, scuff for adhesion if needed, and address any underlying coatings or gloss levels. Glossy or textured substrates may affect the perceived brightness and saturation of PMS 373 C. If brand-critical, it is recommended to test a sample piece to confirm the color result in the intended finish before full production.

Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 373 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
