PMS 361 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) color from the Pantone PMS collection, characterized by a clean, energetic, bold, technical, and distinctive visual profile. The color's notable saturation and moderate lightness make it effective where visual clarity and strong color presence are necessary, particularly in brand-facing materials and display components.

PMS 361 C presents as a medium-value color with moderate lightness (measured LRV: 30.4). The color exhibits a cool, yellow-leaning green hue with a distinct chromatic intensity. This color shows high saturation, lending it a striking and vivid appearance. PMS 361 C displays a prominent yellow-green undertone, resulting in a crisp and modern aesthetic. The color’s perceived brightness and saturation are sensitive to finish and lighting; gloss finishes can amplify vibrancy, while matte finishes may appear slightly subdued.

PMS 361 C is frequently specified in brand standards for use in logos, marketing collateral, and promotional displays where brand differentiation is a priority. This color is often selected for retail display components and pop-up activations requiring high visual impact.

PMS 361 C performs particularly well when applied to surfaces where brand alignment and color distinction are essential, such as branded environments, exhibit features, or signage. To maximize accuracy, evaluate this color under lighting conditions similar to its final installation, as both light quality and finish type significantly influence its appearance. The vivid color may require multiple coats to achieve full opacity, especially on light or uneven substrates, and the high chroma can accentuate surface imperfections. When compared to similar colors, PMS 361 C tends to read cooler and more saturated, making it a choice that stands out rather than blends with other green options.

Similar colors:
PMS 355 C: Slightly darker and deeper, offering a less vibrant, more traditional green.

PMS 354 C: Lighter and less saturated, creating a softer and less assertive visual impact.

PMS 362 C: More muted and warmer, with an earthier undertone relative to PMS 361 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 361 C

How should I evaluate PMS 361 C in prototypes or concept models to confirm visual brand alignment?

When using PMS 361 C in prototypes or concept models, choose a paint format that matches how the color will appear in its final use, such as spray paint for display parts or panels. Apply PMS 361 C in the same finish and on the same type of substrate planned for production, since gloss and lighting strongly affect its appearance. Evaluate prototypes under lighting conditions similar to those expected in the final installation to confirm that PMS 361 C delivers the intended brand impact. For consistent color, test coverage with at least two coats and observe for uniformity, especially on larger surfaces.

What practical steps should I follow for a uniform PMS 361 C finish on larger display or brand environment surfaces?

To achieve a uniform PMS 361 C finish on large areas, prepare the surface thoroughly and use a consistent application method, whether spraying or rolling. PMS 361 C is highly saturated and may require multiple coats for even coverage, especially over light or uneven substrates. Allow adequate drying time between coats and maintain a wet edge to prevent lap marks. Evaluate the finished area under representative lighting to ensure the color meets brand standards and adjust application if patchiness or uneven vibrancy is detected.

Why is it important to use PMS 361 C for brand experience settings, and how does it contribute to visual consistency?

PMS 361 C is specified to ensure consistent, recognizable color in brand experiences such as marketing displays, event activations, or branded environments. Using this exact Pantone code helps maintain uniform visual identity across all touchpoints, regardless of manufacturer or material. By matching PMS 361 C, you align with brand standards and support a cohesive brand presentation that strengthens recognition and visibility for marketing and display applications.

Can I use a standard PMS 361 C paint match for touch-up applications, or do I need to send a sample part?

PMS 361 C paint matches are intended for brand reproduction and not for touch-up of pre-painted products. If you require touch-up grade accuracy for an existing painted part, you should send a physical sample for custom matching. This ensures the new coating aligns with variations in sheen, application process, or aging of the original finish. Standard PMS 361 C paint is the right choice for new brand-facing displays or prototypes, not for touching up existing coatings.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 361 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 361 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 361 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
