PMS 3435 C, from the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, is a deep green with a notably low light reflectance value (LRV 4.42). The color conveys a stable, commanding, and professional vibe with clear associations to institutional, technical, or heritage brand palettes. It is widely considered impactful, traditional, and visually grounding, qualities emphasized by its dark tone and cool, muted undertones.

PMS 3435 C appears very dark, exhibiting a low degree of light reflectance (LRV 4.42). The color leans distinctly cool due to its green base and subtle blue influence. PMS 3435 C exhibits medium to high chroma, delivering strong saturation without excessive vibrancy. This color shows a subdued, slightly bluish-green undertone that enhances its professional or formal character. Finish selection significantly affects perceived depth; gloss finishes may amplify intensity, while matte can reduce visual impact.

PMS 3435 C is frequently associated with university branding programs and athletics, particularly in graphic standards for signage and apparel. The color is often used for institutional or civic branding that requires a traditional, serious visual anchor.

PMS 3435 C is operationally effective wherever a stable, strong green is needed for branding, signage, or display fabrication. Its low lightness means it can appear almost black in low lighting or with matte finishes, so confirm suitability under project lighting conditions before final selection. Proper surface prep and sufficient coating build-up are important to achieve even coverage, as saturated dark greens may require multiple coats for full depth and uniformity. This shade has less yellow and more blue than other deep greens, which should be considered when matching adjacent palette elements.

Similar colors:
PMS 3425 C: A similar green but slightly lighter and with increased yellow content, making it warmer in tone.

PMS 3308 C: Darker and even deeper, nearly verging on black, for an even more understated presentation.

PMS 349 C: A slightly softer green with less blue influence, appearing more muted and traditional.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 3435 C

How can I be sure I am ordering PMS 3435 C in the correct format for my brand requirements?

The best way to ensure you get the correct version of PMS 3435 C is to confirm the full Pantone code, including any suffix or series, with your brand guidelines or documentation. Pantone PMS colors are specified using different codes or suffixes based on application and material, so double-checking the exact reference (such as 'C' for coated or 'U' for uncoated) helps avoid ordering a product that might not match your intended visual standard. If in doubt, consult your brand standards or request clarification before ordering.

What should I know about coverage when using PMS 3435 C paint for a display or branding project?

PMS 3435 C is a very deep, saturated green with low light reflectance. Dark, high-chroma colors like this can require additional coats to achieve full coverage and an even finish, especially over light or contrasting surfaces. Using a gray or dark-tinted undercoat may help improve uniformity, but plan for at least two coats regardless of product format. Testing on your actual substrate is a good strategy to verify required steps for your project.

Can PMS 3435 C look different under various lighting conditions?

Yes, the appearance of PMS 3435 C can shift depending on the type of lighting and the environment where it is viewed. This deep green may look nearly black in low light or take on subtle blue or green tones under different bulbs or daylight conditions. Evaluate the painted sample under the same lighting as your final installation to confirm the color meets your expectations for branding and visual consistency.

Are there special considerations when applying PMS 3435 C paint to plastics or low energy surfaces?

Yes, plastics and other low surface energy materials can present adhesion challenges for any paint, including PMS 3435 C. Successful results often depend on choosing the right primer and surface prep for the specific plastic. Always test PMS 3435 C paint on a sample of the actual material before large-scale application to confirm adhesion and uniform color appearance. Consult with your project manager or materials supplier for substrate-specific recommendations.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 3435 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 3435 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 3435 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 3435 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
