PMS 337 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection and is widely recognized in design and branding for its fresh, clean, airy, and calming qualities. With a moderately high light reflectance value, this color provides a light and unobtrusive appearance, suitable for environments seeking a gentle but noticeable chromatic presence.

PMS 337 C shows a light value (LRV 60.3), appearing bright and soft in most lighting. The color leans cool, with a clear mint-green appearance. It has moderate chroma, resulting in a recognizable but not intense saturation. Undertones are distinctly green with subtle blue influence and no visible yellow shift. PMS 337 C is somewhat finish-sensitive; glossy finishes can enhance its freshness, while matte finishes will render it more understated.

PMS 337 C works well in environments aiming for a light, contemporary look without visual heaviness. Its cool hue is effective for creating a sense of openness or calm and is frequently selected for point-of-sale, exhibit, and branded environments where approachability is needed. Care should be taken to evaluate the color under intended lighting and finish, as glare, sheen, and ambient color reflections can visibly alter perception. PMS 337 C generally covers well, but on darker substrates or in low-hide formulations, more coats may be required to achieve even chromatic appearance compared to less chromatic greens.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 3242 C — Slightly lighter and more muted, presenting a softer, less noticeable green.
  • PMS 338 C — Slightly darker and more saturated, resulting in stronger chromatic presence.
  • PMS 573 C — Cooler and less green, shifting further towards a blue-green pastel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 337 C

When ordering PMS 337 C paint, is it enough to use just the name or do I need to include the Pantone code?

Always specify the full Pantone code 'PMS 337 C' when ordering paint or coatings for this color. The exact code, including suffixes like 'C' for coated, ensures you receive the intended standardized color target. Relying only on the name may cause confusion since similar names or numbers exist in other Pantone systems or finishes, increasing the risk of receiving the wrong color. Use the precise code to make sure your order matches your brand or project standard.

What are the best practices for achieving a uniform look with PMS 337 C when painting large display or brand areas?

To keep PMS 337 C consistent over a large surface, use the same paint format, sheen, and batch throughout the project. Plan and apply the paint in continuous sections without stopping partway. Use proper priming, especially over dark surfaces, since PMS 337 C is a pale color and may need more coats for even coverage. Maintain even application technique and allow full drying between coats. Evaluate the surface under intended lighting conditions, as this color is sensitive to lighting and finish. Sampling before full-scale application is recommended for critical brand installations.

What does it mean to order PMS 337 C paint as a Pantone PMS match?

Ordering PMS 337 C paint as a Pantone PMS match means your order will target the official visual appearance of PMS 337 C as defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. It does not mean the paint is produced using a Pantone formula or specific coating process. Paint is matched visually to the Pantone standard, but appearance may vary based on material, finish, and lighting. When precise color approval is required, test samples are recommended to confirm the result meets your brand or project needs.

When should I request a sample of PMS 337 C paint before my full brand project or installation?

Sampling PMS 337 C is strongly recommended before full production if your project involves brand-critical displays, large or permanent installations, or areas where the lighting and substrate may affect perceived color. A sample lets you confirm that the paint as matched meets your standards under your exact conditions, reducing risk of costly rework or inconsistency. This is especially important if the color must be reviewed by decision makers or meet formal brand approval processes.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 337 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 337 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 337 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
