PMS 294 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, frequently specified for brand identity, display fabrication, and corporate applications that require accurate and consistent reproduction of a specific blue. The vibe can be described as strong, dependable, corporate, technical, and authoritative.
PMS 294 C appears as a very dark blue with an LRV of 3.25, signaling a low level of light reflectance. The color produces a cool impression, owing to its blue base and absence of noticeable warmth. The saturation is high, resulting in a rich, vibrant blue that maintains impact under varied lighting. PMS 294 C features a neutral-to-slightly violet undertone, depending on lighting conditions and material finish. This color is sensitive to finish; gloss or satin finishes will increase its vibrancy, while matte finishes may subdue its intensity.
PMS 294 C is often used in institutional and collegiate branding, where deep, authoritative blue is required by standards. The color is specified in environments where strong visual impact and recognition are priorities, such as signage, exhibits, and event activations.
PMS 294 C works well in applications requiring a deep, consistent blue that communicates professionalism and trust. Care should be taken with substrate preparation to ensure full coverage, as deep saturated colors can sometimes present unevenness on unprimed or absorbent surfaces. Lighting will substantially influence the perceived depth and vibrancy; review samples under intended conditions. Compared to similar deep blues, PMS 294 C stands out for its strong chromatic presence without significant warmth or green influence.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Matching Pantone PMS 294 C precisely can be challenging due to its deep, saturated blue nature. These highly chromatic colors may appear different across materials and finishes, and even small shifts in lighting can affect their appearance. MyPerfectColor specializes in producing visually accurate results for PMS 294 C, but it is important to evaluate a real paint sample against a physical Pantone reference, especially under the lighting and finish conditions planned for your project. Always confirm the match meets your brand expectations before moving ahead with full production.
For brand approvals or institutional signoffs involving Pantone PMS 294 C, order a small paint sample in the intended finish and apply it to the real substrate you will use in your project. Evaluate the sample under your installed lighting conditions to confirm appearance and coverage before ordering larger quantities. This step is critical, especially with deep and saturated colors like PMS 294 C, to avoid surprises during large-scale fabrication or installation.
It is important to confirm you are referencing the correct Pantone code when ordering paint for PMS 294 C. Pantone codes can include suffixes such as C, U, or CP, each corresponding to different material or finish references. Always check your brand standards or project documentation to ensure 'PMS 294 C' is the intended standard for your application. This prevents potential mismatches and ensures accurate brand presentation.
When applying Pantone PMS 294 C spray paint, use multiple light coats to build coverage evenly, especially since deep, saturated blues may require extra coats for full opacity. Allow appropriate flash time between coats to avoid runs and achieve a smooth finish. Testing application technique on a sample will help ensure brand consistency before moving to visible components or displays.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
