PMS 2757 C is a standardized color from the Pantone PMS system, recognized for its deep, cool blue tone. This color is often described as authoritative, professional, robust, and stable. It figures prominently in visual branding, especially where a high-impact, corporate-oriented blue is required. The collection context positions this color as a dependable choice for marketing, display fabrication, and industrial design settings seeking consistent, color-accurate results.

PMS 2757 C appears very dark, with a low LRV of 1.73, resulting in high absorption of light. The color has a cool temperature, strongly influenced by blue and indigo hues. Saturation is high, yielding a vivid and assertive chromatic impression. It carries a muted violet undertone, which can shift subtly depending on lighting conditions. The finish can affect the visual depth; glossier finishes may enhance richness, while matte finishes may further mute the undertone.

PMS 2757 C works well in applications requiring a distinguished, bold blue that reads as both formal and contemporary. It is especially effective in high-profile branded displays, signage, and environments designed for visual authority. Assessment under intended lighting is critical, as the color's darkness and undertone can be altered by both natural and artificial sources. Due to its high saturation and low LRV, careful attention to surface preparation and primer selection is recommended, as coverage may require additional coats compared to less intense colors. Compared to similar deep blues, PMS 2757 C presents a crisper, cooler appearance with less tendency toward cyan or navy warmth.

Similar colors:
PMS 2747 C – Similar depth but reads slightly cooler and less purple.

PMS 2767 C – Darker and more muted, with a stronger gray influence.

PMS 286 C – Noticeably lighter and more vibrant, carrying a stronger classic blue hue.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2757 C

What are the best practices for comparing PMS 2757 C samples during color approval?

To accurately judge PMS 2757 C during approval, always compare samples under the same lighting conditions that will exist in the final environment. Use identical substrates for all samples, as different materials can cause the color to appear lighter, darker, or shift slightly in hue. Let all coatings fully dry and cure before making a decision, since PMS 2757 C may look different wet versus dry. Consistency in substrate, lighting, and film development helps ensure brand standards are correctly met.

How can I find the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for PMS 2757 C in a specific paint format?

The SDS for paint made in PMS 2757 C is tied to the type of paint or product selected, not the color code itself. Locate the SDS by first choosing your paint format, such as spray paint or urethane. Then refer to the SDS library for the chosen product to ensure you have the correct safety information before use. If you have questions, consult the supplier for the current SDS tied to your selected paint format.

How does surface texture affect the appearance of PMS 2757 C?

Surface texture can change how PMS 2757 C is perceived. Smooth surfaces tend to make the color appear deeper and more saturated, while textured or matte surfaces may scatter light and make it look lighter or more muted. Variations in texture can also introduce unwanted shadowing or gloss variation, so always consider the finished texture when planning branding or display components for the most accurate and consistent color impression.

What should I know about coverage and undercoat strategy when using PMS 2757 C?

PMS 2757 C is a highly saturated, deep blue with a low LRV, so expect that full coverage may require more than one coat, especially over light or contrasting substrates. Planning for an appropriate undercoat, such as a tinted primer close to the final color, can improve coverage uniformity and reduce the number of coats needed. This helps achieve a consistent brand result across display surfaces.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 2757 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 2757 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2757 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
