PMS 241 C from the Pantone PMS collection is a vivid, saturated magenta hue designed for use where color consistency and brand alignment are essential. The color’s vibe can be described as energetic, modern, attention-grabbing, and assertive, with a distinctly bold character. This makes it a color selection often associated with dynamic or expressive brand identities, marketing displays, and environments requiring high visual presence.

PMS 241 C appears as a dark and rich magenta with low reflectance (LRV 10.66). The color exhibits a cool undertone due to its pronounced magenta base and purple inclination. This color has high saturation, resulting in strong chromatic intensity. The undertone remains vivid and cool-leaning, emphasizing its vividness under most lighting conditions. PMS 241 C can be noticeably sensitive to finish and light: glossy finishes enhance saturation and vibrancy, while matte finishes slightly mute its intensity.

PMS 241 C is often specified by brand and marketing teams for displays, environmental graphics, and exhibit components that require immediate visual attention. It is sometimes used for product packaging, retail activations, and brand pop-ups seeking distinctiveness and visual impact.

PMS 241 C works well in contexts where brand distinction and energy are desired, or as an accent in environments that benefit from bold, contemporary color statements. Careful lighting evaluation is recommended, as this color’s perceived chroma and depth shift under different illuminants and surface gloss levels. Highly saturated, dark magentas such as PMS 241 C may require additional coats for even coverage on light substrates. Compared with similar magentas, PMS 241 C tends to be cooler and slightly deeper, maintaining intensity where warmer or lighter magentas might appear softer or less assertive.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 241 C

What should I consider when using PMS 241 C paint in pop-ups or retail environments?

When using PMS 241 C in pop-ups or retail environments, be sure to evaluate the color under the actual lighting and finish conditions of the space, since lighting and gloss strongly affect how this vivid magenta appears. Highly saturated colors like PMS 241 C may require more coats for even coverage, especially when used over light backgrounds. Sampling the color in the specific environment is strongly recommended before committing to large-scale application to confirm visual impact, durability, and brand accuracy.

What are the key steps for preparing metal or powder-coated parts for painting with PMS 241 C?

Before applying PMS 241 C to metal or powder-coated parts, be sure to thoroughly scuff and clean the surface to promote adhesion and uniform appearance. The gloss and texture of the existing surface can change the look of PMS 241 C after painting. It is also important to sample the color on the actual substrate and finish before full production, since variations in base materials and coatings will affect color consistency, especially for vivid shades like PMS 241 C.

Why is Pantone PMS 241 C not recommended for touch-up of existing products or coatings?

Pantone PMS 241 C identifies a color standard but does not specify the gloss, surface, or material of the original product. Because coatings can fade or vary in sheen and texture over time, using PMS 241 C as a touch-up reference will not ensure a reliable match to an existing finish. It is designed for new branded applications, not for touch-up or patching of previously coated or manufactured items.

How do I order paint matched to Pantone PMS 241 C on MyPerfectColor?

To order paint matched to PMS 241 C, select the desired paint type and sheen from the available options for your project, choose the required quantity, and review any additional preferences before adding to your cart. For the most accurate result, confirm if you need a spray paint, pen, or liquid format for your application, and sample the color before large-scale installation if color alignment is critical to your brand or display needs.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 241 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 241 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Can I use the Pantone PMS 241 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
