PMS 1895 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) standard color characterized by its light, vibrant pink appearance. Belonging to the Pantone PMS collection, this color is frequently described as soft, lively, energetic, and youthful. Its visual profile supports marketing, branding, and display contexts where a distinctive light pink is desired for its clarity and visual consistency across materials.

PMS 1895 C presents as a light color, with an LRV of 60.3 indicating moderate to high brightness. The color has a clear cool tendency, influenced by a hue angle positioned towards magenta-red. PMS 1895 C demonstrates moderate chroma, resulting in a perceptible yet not overpowering vibrancy. The undertone is distinctly cool pink, with minimal warmth, reducing risks of yellow or peach cast under typical lighting. Finish selection can noticeably affect saturation and brightness, with higher sheens enhancing vibrancy and flats appearing more subdued.

PMS 1895 C works well when a lively, light pink is needed for branded environments, display components, or prototypes requiring clear color identity. When using this color, confirm appearance in target lighting and with the intended finish, as subtle coolness and chroma may become more or less apparent depending on reflectance and ambient conditions. As with all light, chromatic PMS colors, ensure substrates are properly primed for uniform application, as coverage may require multiple coats to maintain vibrancy across varying materials.

Similar colors:
PMS 189 C – Slightly deeper and more saturated, with a stronger red undertone.

PMS 1905 C – Lighter and more subdued, with a softer pink presentation.

PMS 218 C – Noticeably more chromatic and cooler in tone, resulting in a bolder magenta-pink appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1895 C

How can I use Pantone PMS 1895 C in a prototype or concept model to ensure visual brand alignment?

To use Pantone PMS 1895 C in prototypes or concept models, select a paint format that best fits your test materials, such as spray paint for even coverage or paint pens for detail work. Always confirm how PMS 1895 C appears on your actual substrates under intended lighting, since the color''s vibrancy and cool pink undertone can shift based on texture and reflectance. It is often necessary to apply a suitable primer and multiple coats for uniform color, especially with light and chromatic pinks. Evaluating appearance with your preferred finish and lighting early in your prototyping workflow helps reduce surprises during final production.

If I need to touch up an existing part specified as Pantone PMS 1895 C, is it enough to order paint made to the PMS code?

Pantone PMS 1895 C is a standardized brand color reference but is not intended as a touch-up match for existing coatings or parts. If you require a touch-up-grade result for a part or product surface, you should send a sample part for a direct match. This ensures the new paint aligns with your specific substrate, finish, and exposure conditions. Ordering directly by the PMS 1895 C code is best for new brand applications, prototypes, and displays where matching the Pantone standard is the only requirement.

What is the difference between Pantone PMS 1895 C as a color name and as a code, and how do I order the correct product?

Pantone PMS 1895 C combines the code '1895' with the suffix 'C' (for coated), uniquely identifying a specific Pantone color. When ordering paint or coatings, always use the full code 'PMS 1895 C' rather than relying on a color name or description. Including the complete code with the proper suffix helps ensure you receive the intended target, as similar Pantone numbers may represent different colors or finishes.

Should I choose matte or gloss for a brand application using PMS 1895 C, and how will the finish affect the appearance?

The finish for PMS 1895 C can strongly affect its visual impact. Gloss finishes will make PMS 1895 C appear more saturated and vibrant but can create glare under strong lights, which may be distracting on display surfaces. Matte finishes minimize glare and provide a softer look, though the light pink color may appear less vivid. Consider your lighting conditions, viewing distance, and desired level of impact when selecting between matte and gloss. Testing both finishes in your setting is recommended for critical brand projects.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 1895 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
