PMS 155 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) standard color, recognized for its use in brand specification and consistent reproduction. This color presents a light, muted yellow-beige appearance with a clear but gentle quality. Its overall visual effect is soft, approachable, clean, and restrained, with a subtle warmth. PMS 155 C is often chosen when a branded environment or display requires a color that recedes rather than dominates, providing background unity or a neutral platform for stronger accent colors.

- PMS 155 C appears as a very light tone, supporting high brightness (LRV 70.01). - The color has a warm undertone, with a soft yellow-beige bias. - It displays low to moderate saturation, giving a subdued, calm appearance. - The color is not strongly chromatic and reads as understated in most lighting conditions. - PMS 155 C may exhibit finish sensitivity, with gloss levels influencing both brightness and perceived warmth.

PMS 155 C works well in brand-centric environments, signage programs, or display components where a subtle background color is required without overwhelming other visual elements. It generally performs reliably across surfaces, but care should be taken with surface preparation to ensure uniformity. On glossy finishes, the color may take on additional depth and warmth, while matte finishes can increase its appearance of neutrality. It is susceptible to influence from surrounding colors and may shift slightly under varying lighting conditions, particularly under warm artificial lights.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 155 C

What does it mean to order PMS 155 C paint as a Pantone PMS color match?

Ordering PMS 155 C as a Pantone PMS color match means you are requesting paint formulated to visually match the standardized Pantone PMS 155 C color reference. The Pantone code specifies the color target, not a specific paint formula, brand, coating technology, or finish. This approach supports consistent brand appearance across vendors and materials but does not guarantee a match to pre-existing finishes or coatings. Always confirm finish and substrate requirements before specifying for brand-critical applications.

How much surface area does one spray can of PMS 155 C usually cover?

One spray can of PMS 155 C will typically cover about 20 to 25 square feet with one coat. Actual coverage varies based on surface texture, color or primer underneath, and application method. Light colors like PMS 155 C may require a second coat or a suitable primer for uniform appearance, especially over high-contrast or uneven surfaces. Estimate your total area and consider ordering extra if full opacity or multiple coats are needed for brand-facing displays.

Should I order a sample of PMS 155 C before a large branded build or installation?

It is strongly recommended to order a sample of PMS 155 C for any large or high-visibility project. Reviewing a sample on your actual material and under installed lighting ensures the color appearance meets expectations and aligns with brand standards. This step helps avoid costly mistakes and approval delays when appearance is critical for branding or display environments.

Is PMS 155 C known for use by any noteworthy brands or in specific display applications?

PMS 155 C is often chosen for brand-centric environments, signage programs, and marketing displays where a subtle and unified background color is desired. While it may not be closely linked to a specific public brand, it is valued for projects that prioritize a clean, neutral effect without visual dominance, allowing accent elements to stand out within branded or retail spaces.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 155 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 155 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 155 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 155 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 155 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
