PMS 1505 C is defined within the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection and is characterized by an intense, high-energy orange appearance. This color presents as bold, technical, assertive, and unmistakably vibrant, with a distinctly warm presence and noticeable visual clarity. It is designed for operational consistency where accurate communication of branded orange tones is required across materials and vendors.

PMS 1505 C has a moderate lightness, appearing neither overly pale nor particularly dark. The color shows a clear warm tendency, leaning distinctly toward orange rather than yellow or red. The saturation level is very high, giving it a striking and attention-getting presence. The undertone is direct and unambiguous, with minimal muting or softness. The color is moderately sensitive to finish and lighting conditions; gloss may enhance vibrancy, while matte finishes can slightly subdue intensity.

PMS 1505 C is functionally effective when a visually assertive orange is required for brand, retail, display, or environmental graphics, especially where high visibility and quick recognition are priorities. For best results, confirm color appearance with physical samples under final lighting conditions, as vibrancy and perceived chroma can shift noticeably depending on gloss and substrate. Coverage may require additional coats due to the high chroma, and finish selection will affect final appearance—glossier finishes amplify the color's brightness, while matte finishes can temper it relative to similar vivid oranges.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1505 C

How durable is Pantone PMS 1505 C spray paint for branded displays or signage?

The durability of spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 1505 C depends on factors like proper surface preparation, substrate type, and environmental exposure. For best results in high-visibility branding or display use, clean and prime the substrate before spraying, and consider applying a compatible clear topcoat for extra protection. For outdoor or high-traffic areas, choose a premium product specifically rated for those conditions. Discuss your exposure needs with MyPerfectColor before ordering to select the most suitable paint option for PMS 1505 C.

What is the typical lead time to receive Pantone PMS 1505 C paint in spray or other formats?

Pantone PMS 1505 C paint products are made to order to ensure color accuracy. Lead times typically depend on the chosen paint format and current production volume. Most orders for custom spray paint and other formats require several business days for production before shipping. If you have a specific deadline or require a rush order, contact MyPerfectColor before ordering for up-to-date timing and expedited service options.

How does surface texture affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 1505 C when painted?

The appearance of PMS 1505 C can change based on the surface texture of the material being painted. Smoother surfaces reflect more light, usually making the color look brighter and more vibrant, while textured or matte surfaces can make it appear slightly darker or less saturated. For brand-critical applications, review a painted sample of PMS 1505 C on the exact substrate and finish before full production, as texture will influence final visual impact.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 1505 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
