Pantone™ PMS 1405 C

PMS 1405 C as seen in a Pantone book serves as a reference standard produced on paper under specific conditions. When ordering paint matched to PMS 1405 C, expect some appearance differences due to the influence of substrate, finish, and application method. Gloss and lighting can change how the color looks compared to the book sample. For critical projects, always test PMS 1405 C paint on your intended material and under the lighting conditions where it will be used. This ensures alignment with brand expectations and allows you to assess any material- or finish-dependent color shifts before committing to full production.

Proper surface preparation is key to achieving the best results with PMS 1405 C paint. Start by cleaning the surface thoroughly to remove dust, grease, or oils. For most materials, a light degreasing step is recommended. If the substrate is glossy or slick, scuff it lightly with fine sandpaper to improve adhesion. Be sure the surface is dry before painting. Testing PMS 1405 C on a small, hidden area is advised to confirm suitability before completing the full application.

The finish, or sheen, you choose for PMS 1405 C paint will influence how the color is perceived. Gloss and satin finishes can make PMS 1405 C appear deeper, richer, and sometimes slightly darker. Matte and flat sheens may soften the color, making it seem less intense and muting some of the olive and brown undertones. For brand-facing applications, it is best to test your finish choice with PMS 1405 C in the actual lighting conditions of your project before proceeding with a large order.

Uniformity is important when applying PMS 1405 C over large areas. For best results, use consistent spray or application techniques and maintain a wet edge. Plan enough product to complete individual sections without stopping, as patching in later can result in visible differences. Apply multiple thin coats rather than one heavy coat to build even coverage, and allow recommended drying time between each coat. Review your results under the lighting where the finished display will be viewed to confirm uniform appearance.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
