PMS 122 C is a standardized color in the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, widely used in marketing, branding, and display fabrication environments. Visually, it presents as a clear, energetic yellow with a warm, cheerful, and saturated appearance. The color conveys a sense of approachability, clarity, and energy. Its overall vibe is bright, inviting, and highly visible, fitting technical requirements for applications where accurate, consistent color reproduction is critical across various substrates.
PMS 122 C displays a bright, light appearance, supported by a high light reflectance value (LRV 70.01). The color has a warm tendency, showing a clear yellow character with subtle golden undertones. PMS 122 C maintains high saturation and visual chroma, resulting in strong color impact without visual muddiness. The undertone of this color leans toward a clean, slightly golden yellow, avoiding greenish or orange shifts. PMS 122 C can be sensitive to finish, with gloss finishes often amplifying its luminosity, while matte finishes may temper the perceived brightness.
PMS 122 C is most effective where a visibly strong yellow is needed for branding or visual communications. Suitable for use on signage, props, and displays where color accuracy and brightness are essential. In low-light or shadowy environments, the color remains visibly distinct but may lose some vibrancy. Careful surface preparation is recommended for uniform coverage, as highly saturated colors like this yellow can sometimes require additional coats, especially on dark or highly textured substrates. Finish selection should be made with consideration for the intended viewing environment, as high gloss may intensify brightness while matte can provide a softer appearance. Compared to similar warm yellows, PMS 122 C maintains a cleaner, less orange-leaning appearance with stable color in most artificial and daylight conditions.
Similar colors:
PMS 114 C: Lighter and less saturated, providing a softer yellow presence for less intense applications.
PMS 123 C: Slightly darker and more orange-toned, which leads to a warmer and deeper yellow effect.
PMS 127 C: More muted and closer to a pastel yellow, resulting in lower chroma and a subdued visual effect.

When using PMS 122 C in pop-up or retail settings, assess the durability needs of your installation and how the color will look under your actual lighting. Lighting can strongly influence the perceived brightness and warmth of this yellow. Sampling PMS 122 C on your actual substrate is recommended before committing to full production, as large, saturated areas may require extra coats for full coverage and appearance. Finish choice will also make a visible difference: gloss can increase perceived vibrancy, while matte will reduce glare. Always confirm the final color and finish in the intended space before large-scale application.
For PMS 122 C, gloss finishes will emphasize the energetic yellow with higher saturation and more brightness 'punch,' especially under strong lighting or at a distance. However, gloss can create glare in direct lighting or window-lit environments, which may distract viewers up close. Matte finishes help avoid glare and provide softer, more even color, but may reduce the perceived brightness of PMS 122 C. Consider your primary viewing distance, lighting angles, and visual impact goals when deciding which finish best supports your brand presence.
Pantone PMS 122 C is a standardized color from the Pantone Matching System, and consistency is critical for brand applications. Using paint from an authorized producer ensures PMS 122 C is reproduced to Pantone's color target, supporting brand accuracy across projects and vendors. Unlicensed or non-standard reproductions may lead to color drift, especially in visually sensitive branding and display applications.
PMS 122 C paint is made to order to ensure color accuracy and freshness. Standard lead times depend on the paint format selected and current production volume. Spray paint and other common application types may ship in a few business days, but larger or custom orders can require additional time. Confirm requirements and timelines early if your project has strict deadlines.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 122 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
