PMS 106 C from the Pantone PMS collection is a light, pure yellow with a distinctively vibrant presence, often described as energetic, highly visible, clean, and modern. This color exhibits strong clarity and immediacy, making it an effective choice for high-visibility brand applications and visual communication where immediate recognition is important. Its lightness and vibrancy help it stand out across a range of substrates and media. PMS 106 C typically reads as friendly, youthful, and positive in both marketing and industrial environments.
PMS 106 C appears noticeably light in value (with an LRV of 78.48). The color reads as warm, with a yellow hue leaning slightly toward green but not to the point of chartreuse. Saturation is high; the color is bold and pure with minimal muting or graying. Undertones are clean and vibrant, lacking significant beige or ochre influence. The color may shift perceptually in strong artificial or directional lighting, potentially appearing more intense or slightly cooler depending on context. Paint finish can affect vibrancy; higher-gloss finishes tend to intensify the color's visual impact.
PMS 106 C works well in environments where immediate color recognition and brightness are important, such as branded displays, wayfinding, and experiential marketing activations. Be aware that its high pigmentation and low masking capability can expose surface inconsistencies; thorough surface preparation and an appropriate primer base are recommended, particularly over darker substrates. PMS 106 C color appearance can shift with finish (glossy finishes amplify vibrancy) and may appear more acidic or intense under specific lighting conditions. In side-by-side comparisons with other bright yellows, PMS 106 C distinguishes itself by a cleaner, lighter presence without significant golden or orange shifts.

Ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 106 C means you are requesting a custom paint color mixed to visually match the standardized Pantone PMS 106 C reference. The PMS code is a color target, not a formula or finish. This ensures your painted surface visually aligns with the PMS 106 C standard under typical viewing conditions but does not specify the manufacturing process, paint type, or application method. Always confirm if the painted result will meet your project's specific needs for substrate, finish, and lighting, especially for brand-critical or high-visibility uses.
The finish selected for PMS 106 C, such as gloss, satin, or matte, can significantly affect the perceived brightness and vibrancy of the color. Gloss and high-sheen finishes tend to intensify PMS 106 C, making it appear brighter and more saturated. Matte or satin finishes will reduce reflections and can make the color seem softer or more muted. Since PMS 106 C is a highly visible, light yellow, these changes in finish may impact how closely the painted surface aligns with brand expectations, especially under varied lighting conditions. If exact appearance is critical, always test the finish and color together on your actual substrate before finalizing large projects.
For best results with PMS 106 C, start by ensuring the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or loose material. Use a suitable cleaner or degreaser as needed. Lightly scuff glossy or very smooth surfaces to promote adhesion. Because PMS 106 C is a bright, light yellow with lower masking capability, proper surface prep and a primer or white base coat are especially important for even coverage and true color appearance, especially over dark or uneven substrates. Always test a small area first to confirm adhesion and finish before committing to the full job.
When PMS 106 C is specified in brand approval workflows, it is best practice to order a sample of the matched paint and apply it to the actual substrate you will use. Review the sample under the same lighting and finish that will be present in the final installation. This approach allows brand teams and stakeholders to accurately evaluate color appearance and approve the match before full production or rollout, minimizing risk and ensuring brand consistency in critical applications.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 106 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
