PMS 2309 U is a Pantone PMS color defined within the Pantone Matching System and specified as a visual color target rather than a paint formula. It presents a light, clean yellow-green impression that feels open, modern, and gently energetic without appearing sharp or fluorescent.
The color reads as light, with an LRV of 66.3, and leans warm with a noticeable yellow influence over green. It shows moderate saturation and carries a soft yellow-green undertone that can shift subtly with lighting.
This color works well in brand-forward environments where a bright but controlled green-yellow tone supports visibility and approachability. As a light, moderately saturated color, it may show surface inconsistencies if applied over dark or uneven substrates, so priming and uniform surface preparation can help achieve even appearance.
Finish and lighting can influence whether the yellow or green aspect is more prominent, so evaluating a painted sample under intended conditions is recommended.
Similar colors:
PMS 2297 U: slightly lighter and softer, with a more subdued yellow presence.
PMS 2307 U: greener and a bit more saturated, with less yellow warmth.
PMS 2310 U: deeper and more chromatic, with increased visual strength.

PMS 2309 U is a Pantone PMS color standard, not a material-specific formula. When this color is applied to different substrates like metal, plastic, or wood, the surface properties change how the color appears.
Absorption, surface texture, and reflectivity all influence perceived brightness and saturation. A smooth, non-porous surface can make PMS 2309 U appear cleaner and brighter, while a more absorbent or textured material can soften the color.
For brand-facing projects that use multiple materials, it is best to evaluate PMS 2309 U on the actual substrates used in the final build before committing to full production.
The choice between matte and gloss can noticeably change how PMS 2309 U is perceived. Gloss finishes typically increase color punch and saturation, which can help the color stand out in brand displays, but they also reflect more light and can create glare.
Matte finishes reduce reflections and glare, which can be helpful in brightly lit environments or close viewing distances, but the color may appear slightly less vivid.
Lighting conditions, viewing distance, and the role of PMS 2309 U in your brand application should guide this decision. If visual impact is critical, testing both finishes is recommended.
PMS 2309 U is a licensed Pantone PMS color standard. Accurate reproduction requires working from Pantone reference data rather than visual guesses or unverified conversions.
MyPerfectColor is authorized to reproduce Pantone PMS colors in paint, which helps ensure that PMS 2309 U is matched to the correct Pantone target.
This is important for brand consistency across vendors, displays, and marketing environments where PMS 2309 U must visually align with approved Pantone standards.
To order PMS 2309 U, start by selecting the paint format that fits your application, such as spray paint or another available option for branding and display use.
Next, choose the sheen or finish, keeping in mind how gloss or matte will affect the appearance of PMS 2309 U under your lighting conditions.
Then select the quantity needed for coverage and submit the order using PMS 2309 U as the color reference. If the project is high-visibility or multi-material, ordering a sample first can help confirm the final appearance.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 2309 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2309 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
