Pantone™ PMS 2308 U

Pantone PMS 2308 U is a color reference standard, not a paint formula. When we produce paint to match PMS 2308 U, the goal is a close visual match to the Pantone standard under typical viewing conditions.

Some Pantone colors, especially vivid or saturated hues, can be challenging to reproduce exactly across different paint chemistries and substrates. Small visual differences can occur based on finish, lighting, and material. For high visibility or brand critical projects, ordering a sample and reviewing it under your actual lighting and substrate is the safest way to confirm acceptance before full production.

Safety Data Sheets are tied to the specific paint product and chemistry, not to the Pantone PMS 2308 U color itself. The same color can be produced in different products, each with its own SDS.

After selecting the paint type you plan to order in PMS 2308 U, you can find the correct SDS in the SDS library for that product. Always review the SDS for the exact product you are purchasing to ensure it meets your handling and compliance requirements.

When approving a paint sample matched to Pantone PMS 2308 U, compare it to the Pantone reference under consistent lighting, ideally lighting similar to where the final piece will be used.

Apply the sample on the same or a very similar substrate as your final application and allow the coating to fully dry or cure before judging color. Differences in surface texture, absorbency, and gloss can affect how the color is perceived, even when the match is correct.

The finish you choose can change how Pantone PMS 2308 U appears. Gloss finishes tend to make colors look deeper and more saturated but can introduce glare under bright lighting. Matte finishes reduce glare and reflections but can slightly mute the perceived intensity of the color.

Consider viewing distance, lighting conditions, and brand expectations when deciding. If visual impact and color punch are critical, gloss may be preferred. If readability and glare control matter more, matte may be a better choice. Sampling in the intended finish is recommended before finalizing your order.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
