PMS 2299 U is a Pantone Matching System color specified for consistent visual communication across brand-driven projects. It presents a fresh, energetic green character that reads as modern, saturated, and visually assertive without becoming dark or muted.

The color shows a medium-light appearance with an LRV of 54.41. It reads as clearly cool-leaning within the green spectrum and exhibits high saturation and strong chroma, giving it a bold visual presence.

This color performs well on smooth, well-prepared surfaces where visual uniformity is critical for brand accuracy. Due to its high saturation, it often benefits from a light or white primer and may require additional coats to achieve even coverage, especially over darker substrates.

Finish selection and lighting conditions can noticeably affect perceived brightness and saturation, so evaluating a physical sample under installed lighting is recommended.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Similar colors:

Pantone 2288 U: slightly lighter and less saturated, with a more open green appearance.
Pantone 2292 U: darker and more grounded, with increased visual weight.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2299 U

What safety and VOC expectations should I plan for when ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 2299 U?

Pantone PMS 2299 U is a color reference, not a paint specification. Safety, VOC content, and handling requirements depend on the specific paint product and format you choose. Before use, review the Safety Data Sheet for the exact product you are ordering and follow all application and ventilation guidance provided by the manufacturer.

If you are deciding between formats for PMS 2299 U, confirm that the selected product meets your workplace safety requirements and any site-specific rules. Do not assume that all Pantone-matched paints share the same VOC level or handling precautions.

What paint product formats are available for a Pantone PMS 2299 U color match?

Pantone PMS 2299 U can be matched into several paint formats used for branding, display, and prototyping work. Common options include custom spray paint, paint pens, and brush-in-cap bottles. Other coatings such as epoxy, urethane, or interior/exterior housepaint may be offered depending on the application.

Choose the format based on how PMS 2299 U will be applied, the size of the surface, and the level of control needed. The Pantone code defines the visual color target, while the product format determines application behavior, coverage, and durability.

How is Pantone PMS 2299 U typically used in prototypes or concept models?

Pantone PMS 2299 U is often used in prototypes and concept models to evaluate brand color appearance before final production. In these cases, the goal is visual alignment with the Pantone reference rather than long-term performance.

For prototype work, select a paint format that allows you to apply PMS 2299 U to the same substrates used in the concept. Review the color under the intended lighting and be aware that finish and sheen can change how the color is perceived. This evaluation step helps reduce risk before larger brand-facing projects move forward.

Do I need a primer when applying paint matched to Pantone PMS 2299 U?

Whether a primer is needed for Pantone PMS 2299 U depends on the paint type, the substrate, and the exposure conditions. Some surfaces require a primer for proper adhesion, while others may need it to achieve uniform color appearance.

Because saturated Pantone colors can vary in coverage, using the recommended primer can help achieve consistent results and reduce the number of finish coats. Always follow the primer and surface preparation guidance specified for the exact paint product you select.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2299 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2299 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2299 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
