PMS 2270 U is a Pantone PMS color defined within the Pantone Matching System as a standardized visual reference for consistent brand communication. The color conveys a fresh, energetic, and contemporary impression with strong visual presence.
Color characteristicsThe color reads as mid-light, supported by an LRV of 44.46, and maintains a distinctly cool green-cyan bias. Its high saturation and strong chroma give it a bold, attention-directing appearance with minimal warmth.
Practical applicationPMS 2270 U performs well in brand-facing displays, signage, and exhibit components where visual impact is essential. Because of its saturation, coverage may require careful surface preparation, a light primer, and multiple coats for uniform results, particularly under bright or variable lighting.
Similar colors:
PMS 2269 U: slightly lighter and more open, with reduced visual intensity.
PMS 2271 U: slightly darker with increased depth and visual weight.
Pantone 7724 U: more yellow-leaning and warmer, with less cyan influence.

Yes. PMS 2270 U is a highly saturated Pantone color, and colors like this often have lower hide than muted tones.
Plan for additional coats to reach uniform color, especially on dark or contrasting substrates. Using a compatible primer and allowing proper flash time between coats helps reduce streaking and mottling.
For brand-facing work, evaluate coverage on the actual substrate you will use so you can confirm appearance before committing to full production.
PMS 2270 U is a color reference, not a paint specification. The right paint type depends on your substrate, environment, and finish goals.
If you are unsure, contact MyPerfectColor and share what you are coating, whether it is indoors or outdoors, and your preferred sheen. This information helps select a paint format that can accurately match PMS 2270 U for your application.
Choosing the correct product upfront reduces the risk of appearance issues or rework later.
When reordering PMS 2270 U, consistency is best maintained by sticking with the same paint type, sheen, and reference target used on the original order.
Small visual differences can occur if any of these variables change. Keep a physical approval sample from your first run and compare future orders against it under similar lighting.
This approach helps keep Delta E differences minimal and avoids surprises in repeat builds.
Yes. For projects that require brand approval, ordering a small sample of PMS 2270 U is strongly recommended.
Review the sample on the actual substrate and under the lighting where it will be displayed. This helps confirm color appearance, coverage, and finish before full production.
Sampling early supports smoother approvals and reduces the risk of costly changes later.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 2270 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2270 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
