Pantone™ PMS 2010 U

Pantone PMS 2010 U is a brand color reference used as a visual target when fabricating signs, displays, and exhibit components. It helps align color appearance across vendors and materials, but it is not a paint formula or finish specification.

For fabricated elements, the best practice is to produce a physical sample of PMS 2010 U on the actual substrate and finish you plan to use. Material, sheen, and lighting can all shift how the color appears, so sampling helps confirm acceptance before full production.

The Safety Data Sheet is not specific to Pantone PMS 2010 U itself. SDS documents are tied to the paint or coating product type, such as spray paint, epoxy, or urethane, rather than the color code.

After selecting the product format for PMS 2010 U, you can locate the corresponding SDS in the SDS library for that specific product. This ensures the safety information matches the actual coating you are ordering.

Pantone PMS 2010 U defines a color target only. It does not specify sheen, texture, film build, or substrate conditions, all of which strongly affect how a color looks once applied.

Because of these variables, using PMS 2010 U as a touch-up reference for an existing coating often leads to visible differences. Pantone PMS colors are better suited for brand-facing components where visual alignment to the Pantone standard is the goal, not for repairing or blending into an existing surface.

As a general planning estimate, one spray can mixed to Pantone PMS 2010 U covers about 10 to 12 square feet per coat. Actual coverage can vary based on surface texture, application technique, and the number of coats required.

Highly saturated Pantone colors may need additional coats for uniform hide, especially on contrasting substrates. For critical brand applications, ordering an extra can is recommended to account for testing, adjustments, and coverage variation.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
