Pantone™ PMS 7543 U

A Pantone PMS 7543 U spray paint match is designed to meet visual brand accuracy, not a fixed durability rating. Durability depends on surface preparation, the paint system selected, and the environment where it is used.

For indoor displays and short to medium term brand installations, proper cleaning and priming are usually sufficient. For higher handling, outdoor exposure, or longer display periods, selecting a more durable paint type and adding a compatible clear coat can improve resistance to wear and fading. Always choose the paint type based on exposure conditions rather than assuming durability from the Pantone color itself.

Sampling PMS 7543 U is recommended when the color will be used in high visibility brand applications, large installations, or projects requiring formal brand approval. A sample allows you to evaluate the color under your actual lighting and on the intended substrate.

Sampling is also advisable if the project involves multiple materials or finishes, since surface texture and sheen can change how the Pantone color is perceived. Reviewing a sample first helps reduce approval risk before committing to full production.

Like many Pantone PMS colors, PMS 7543 U is matched for visual accuracy rather than coverage efficiency. Depending on the substrate and undercoat color, multiple coats may be required to achieve uniform appearance.

Using a primer that is appropriate for the surface and close in tone can improve hide and reduce the number of finish coats needed. Evaluating coverage during sampling helps set realistic expectations for the final application.

A standard Pantone PMS 7543 U match is appropriate when the Pantone reference is the approved color target, such as for branded displays, signage, exhibits, prototypes, and marketing installations.

This approach works best when visual alignment to Pantone standards is the priority rather than matching an existing painted surface. For permanent or highly controlled brand environments, reviewing a sample under installed lighting conditions is recommended before final production.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
