Pantone™ PMS 7480 U

PMS 7480 U is a Pantone color standard, not a paint formula, so the key decision is choosing a paint format that fits your prototype workflow. For quick visual evaluation and iteration, spray paint is typically the most efficient. For small components or controlled application areas, paint pens or brush-in-cap bottles may be easier.

Because this is a visual brand match, plan to review a physical sample early in the process. Evaluate the PMS 7480 U sample under the same lighting and on the same substrate used in the prototype. This helps confirm coverage, hide, and perceived color before committing to multiple parts.

The Safety Data Sheet is not specific to PMS 7480 U as a color. SDS documents are tied to the paint product type, such as spray paint, epoxy, or urethane, rather than the Pantone code itself.

After selecting the specific paint product made in PMS 7480 U, you can locate the SDS for that product in the SDS library provided for the chosen paint type. Always review the SDS that corresponds to the exact product you are ordering.

When using PMS 7480 U in pop-ups or retail installations, durability and visual consistency are primary considerations. Select a paint product appropriate for the expected handling and duration of the installation, and confirm that the chosen finish supports the desired visual impact.

Lighting can significantly affect how PMS 7480 U appears. Review a painted sample under the installed lighting conditions before large-scale application. For high-visibility brand elements, sampling helps reduce approval risk and avoids surprises during installation.

Paint matched to PMS 7480 U is made to order. Production lead time depends on the selected paint product, order quantity, and current production volume.

In general, custom-matched Pantone PMS paints require additional time compared to off-the-shelf products. If your project has a fixed deadline, confirm lead time expectations after selecting the paint format and before placing the order.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
