PMS 806 U is a Pantone PMS color known for its extremely bright, high-energy pink appearance, commonly associated with attention-driven branding and display environments. The color conveys intensity, urgency, and contemporary visibility rather than subtlety or softness.

The color appears mid-dark with an LRV of 27.04. This color reads warm, leaning strongly toward a hot pink-red hue, and it is extremely high in saturation with a fluorescent intensity.

This color shows a strong red-pink undertone that dominates under most lighting conditions. The color is highly sensitive to lighting and finish, with noticeable shifts in brightness and intensity.

PMS 806 U works best in controlled brand environments where strong visual contrast and short viewing distances are expected. Because of its extreme saturation, it often benefits from a white or light-colored primer to support uniform brightness, and multiple coats may be needed to reduce patchiness.

Gloss level and lighting can significantly affect perceived intensity, so evaluating a painted sample in the final environment is strongly advised.

The following examples reflect commonly cited branding associations and are based on publicly referenced design usage; they are illustrative, not exhaustive or exclusive. The color is widely cited in branding literature as a fluorescent accent used in sports marketing and event graphics.

This color is commonly referenced in promotional materials for high-visibility campaigns, pop-up installations, and youth-oriented brand activations.

Similar colors:

PMS 805 U: slightly lighter and more orange-leaning, with less red intensity.
PMS 807 U: darker and deeper, with a stronger magenta character.
PMS 212 C: less fluorescent and more conventional, with reduced visual brightness.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 806 U

What product formats are available for Pantone PMS 806 U paint, and how should I choose?

Pantone PMS 806 U is a Pantone color reference, not a paint type. MyPerfectColor reproduces this color in several formats commonly used for brand and display work, including custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and selected coating types such as epoxy or urethane where offered.

Choose spray paint for even coverage on displays, signage, or fabricated parts. Paint pens or brush-in-cap bottles are better for small graphics, stencils, or controlled detail work. If the project involves a specific substrate or durability requirement, review the product description for compatibility before ordering.

Should I order Pantone PMS 806 U in a matte or gloss finish?

The finish you choose will affect how Pantone PMS 806 U is perceived. Gloss finishes generally make saturated colors appear brighter and more vivid, which is often preferred for brand-facing graphics and displays. Matte finishes reduce glare and reflections, which can be useful under strong lighting or close viewing.

Because PMS 806 U is a very saturated color, gloss will typically deliver more visual punch, while matte can appear slightly softer. If appearance is critical, consider testing a sample in the actual lighting and viewing conditions before committing to a full order.

What safety and VOC considerations apply when using Pantone PMS 806 U paint?

Safety and VOC characteristics are determined by the specific paint product, not by the Pantone PMS 806 U color itself. Each format and coating type has its own handling, ventilation, and application requirements.

Before use, review the Safety Data Sheet for the exact product you order and follow all recommended safety practices. This includes proper ventilation, personal protective equipment, and surface preparation appropriate to the coating.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 806 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 806 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 806 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 806 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 806 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
