Pantone™ PMS 707 U

PMS 707 U is a Pantone Matching System color, which defines a visual color target rather than a fixed paint formula. When reordering, the most reliable way to keep results consistent is to stay with the same product type, sheen, and application method you used before.

Changes in finish, substrate, or coating thickness can shift how PMS 707 U appears, even when the Pantone target is the same. For repeat programs or phased projects, approving and keeping a physical sample from the first run is recommended so future orders can be evaluated against the same reference.

Paint matched to PMS 707 U is made to order rather than pulled from pre-mixed stock. Production time depends on the specific product format selected, such as spray paint or other custom paint options, as well as current production volume.

If your project has a fixed marketing or installation deadline, it is best to place the order early and allow time for production and shipping. This helps avoid last-minute changes that could affect color approval or delivery timing.

When approving PMS 707 U, compare the painted sample to the Pantone reference under consistent lighting and on a similar substrate whenever possible. Differences in light source, surface texture, and viewing angle can noticeably change how the color is perceived.

Allow the paint to fully dry and cure before making a final judgment. Evaluating a wet or partially cured sample can lead to approval decisions that do not reflect the final installed appearance.

PMS 707 U is a saturated Pantone color, and colors in this range can have lower hide compared to more neutral tones. Depending on the substrate and finish, multiple coats may be needed to achieve uniform coverage.

Using an appropriate undercoat can help improve consistency and reduce the total number of finish coats required. Planning for coverage up front helps avoid surprises during application, especially for brand-facing displays where uniform appearance is important.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
