PMS 644 U is a Pantone PMS color commonly specified for brand and visual identity systems. It presents a calm, cool-toned lavender-blue with a reserved, professional, and controlled visual character.
The color sits at a mid-range lightness with an LRV of 42.2. This color leans cool, with a clear blue-violet tendency.
The saturation is moderate to low, giving it a softened, understated appearance. The undertone reads as a muted lavender with a gray-blue influence.
PMS 644 U works well in environments where brand consistency and visual restraint are important, such as signage, displays, and branded architectural elements. Its muted saturation can help reduce glare and visual fatigue, but uneven surfaces or high-sheen finishes may reveal subtle shifts in tone, making surface preparation and finish selection important.
Similar colors:
PMS 643 U: slightly lighter and softer, with less visual weight.
PMS 645 U: cooler and lighter, with a cleaner blue presence.
PMS 5425 U: darker and more neutral, with reduced lavender influence.

Pantone PMS 644 U includes a suffix that identifies the reference context used by Pantone. Pantone codes can exist in multiple series or suffixes, and those references are not interchangeable. When ordering a match to PMS 644 U, confirm that your brand standards or source files explicitly call for the 'U' version and not a different PMS 644 reference. Ordering the wrong suffix can result in a color that is visually different from what your brand expects.
If you are unsure which suffix applies, verify it with your brand documentation or approval team before ordering paint.
Shipping time for a Pantone PMS 644 U paint order depends on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. Transit time begins after the paint is produced, and longer distances or economy shipping options will increase total delivery time.
If you are working toward a fixed installation or launch date, plan buffer time for production and transit, and consider faster shipping options when deadlines are tight.
Pantone PMS 644 U is commonly used in pop-ups, retail displays, and brand environments where visual color accuracy is important. For these settings, evaluate the color under the actual lighting conditions where it will be installed, as lighting can noticeably affect how the color appears.
Before committing to a large production run, it is recommended to test a sample on the actual substrate to confirm coverage, durability expectations, and visual approval.
Sheen affects how Pantone PMS 644 U is perceived once applied. Higher sheens reflect more light and can make the color appear brighter or more saturated, while lower sheens reduce glare and can soften the appearance.
When choosing a sheen, consider viewing distance, surface texture, and lighting. For critical brand applications, sampling the selected sheen on the actual surface is the best way to confirm that the appearance meets expectations.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 644 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
