Pantone™ PMS 584 U

Ordering PMS 584 U means you are requesting paint mixed to visually match the Pantone PMS 584 U color target. Pantone PMS is a standardized visual reference used to communicate color, not a paint formula, coating system, or finish specification.

The paint you receive is a best visual match to PMS 584 U in the selected paint type and sheen. It is not an official Pantone product and it is not guaranteed to look identical across all materials, finishes, or lighting conditions. For brand-facing applications, reviewing a sample is recommended before full production.

The Safety Data Sheet is tied to the specific paint product and chemistry, not to the PMS 584 U color itself. The same color can be made in different paint types, each with its own SDS.

After selecting your paint format and placing an order, you can access the SDS from the SDS library for that product type. If you need the SDS before ordering, choose the intended paint format first, then review the corresponding SDS documentation.

PMS 584 U does not have a reliable one-to-one conversion to other paint brand color collections. Pantone PMS colors are a separate color system, and most paint manufacturers develop their own unique palettes.

Any cross-reference is an approximation and may differ in saturation, brightness, or undertone, especially for vivid or brand-critical colors. If PMS 584 U is specified in your brand standards, ordering a Pantone-matched paint and approving it visually is the safest approach.

When applying a PMS 584 U color match to metal or existing powder-coated parts, surface preparation is critical. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and properly scuffed or primed to promote adhesion.

The existing coating color, texture, and gloss level can affect how PMS 584 U appears once applied. Gloss differences and substrate color can shift perceived brightness or saturation. For visible brand applications, testing the color on the actual surface and finish is strongly recommended before full production.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
