PMS 5793 U is a Pantone PMS color in the yellow-green range, offering a restrained and organic appearance. Its overall character is calm and understated, supporting brand applications that favor subtlety over high visual intensity.
The color appears mid-light, with an LRV of 53.23, and leans warm due to its yellow influence. Its low to moderate saturation and olive undertone soften the green, making it feel natural rather than vivid.
This color works well in brand-facing displays, exhibit components, and visual environments where a gentle green presence is preferred. Because lighter, muted greens can reveal surface variation, proper priming and consistent application can help maintain uniform appearance under varied lighting.
Similar colors:
PMS 5797 U: lighter and more open, with less olive depth.
PMS 5803 U: darker and more subdued, with increased earthy weight.

Pantone PMS 5793 U is a visual color standard, not a paint formula. Any paint version is a best visual match to the Pantone reference, not an identical reproduction across all materials and finishes.
MyPerfectColor matches PMS 5793 U by visually targeting the Pantone standard under controlled conditions. Differences in substrate, sheen, film thickness, and lighting can change how the color appears. For brand critical or high visibility projects, ordering a sample and reviewing it under your actual lighting is the safest way to confirm acceptance before full production.
Whether a primer is needed for Pantone PMS 5793 U depends on the paint type, the substrate, and the exposure conditions. Bare, porous, glossy, or previously coated surfaces often require a primer to promote adhesion and even color development.
Using a primer can also help achieve more uniform coverage, especially when consistent brand appearance is important. If you are unsure, starting with a small test area using the recommended primer for your substrate can help avoid coverage issues on the final application.
Pantone PMS 5793 U does not have a reliable one to one equivalent in most paint brand color collections. Each manufacturer develops its own palette, and any cross reference is only an approximation.
For brand and marketing applications, specifying PMS 5793 U directly and ordering a custom match is the most accurate approach. Relying on a named or numbered color from another system increases the risk of visible mismatch, especially when brand consistency matters.
When applying Pantone PMS 5793 U over larger areas, consistency is critical. Use the same application method, batch, and coat thickness across the entire surface to avoid shading or banding.
Plan for full, even coats rather than spot coverage, and allow proper flash and dry times between coats. Applying test panels and reviewing them under the final lighting conditions can help confirm uniform appearance before committing to the full area.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 5793 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
