PMS 5757 U is a Pantone Matching System green with a restrained, natural character. It conveys a grounded, subdued appearance that supports brand elements without drawing excessive attention.

The color reads as darker with an LRV of 16.03 and carries a slightly warm green bias. Its moderate saturation and olive undertone help soften contrast and maintain visual balance.

PMS 5757 U performs well in brand-facing displays, signage, and fabricated elements where consistency and low visual noise matter. Careful surface preparation and primer selection can help maintain uniform depth, especially on lighter or variable substrates.

Similar colors:

PMS 5747 U: darker and more muted, with increased brown influence.
PMS 5753 U: slightly lighter and more open, with less visual density.
PMS 5763 U: deeper and cooler, with a more forest-green character.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 5757 U

How should I use Pantone PMS 5757 U paint for prototypes or concept models?

Pantone PMS 5757 U is a color communication standard, not a paint formula. For prototypes and concept models, the goal is visual alignment to the Pantone reference rather than exact material equivalence.

Choose a paint format that matches how the prototype will be viewed, such as spray paint for smooth, uniform surfaces or brush-applied formats for small components. Always evaluate the color on the actual substrate used in the model, under the lighting where it will be reviewed. This helps confirm that the appearance meets brand expectations before broader production.

What should I know before applying Pantone PMS 5757 U paint to plastic parts?

Plastics vary widely in surface energy, and this affects how well paint will adhere. When using Pantone PMS 5757 U on plastic parts, the color match is achievable, but adhesion is not guaranteed without proper surface preparation.

Many plastics require a specific primer or adhesion promoter. Always test the complete system, primer plus color, on the exact plastic material before committing to production. This confirms both adhesion and the final appearance of the Pantone color on that surface.

Why is Pantone PMS 5757 U not recommended for touch-up or matching existing finishes?

Pantone PMS 5757 U defines a color target only. It does not specify sheen, texture, film build, or substrate, all of which strongly affect how a color looks once applied.

Because existing products and coatings already have specific finish conditions, a Pantone-based match is not precise enough to reliably blend into them. Pantone PMS colors are best used when visual brand alignment is the goal, not when trying to replicate or blend with an existing finish.

Where can I find the SDS for paint matched to Pantone PMS 5757 U?

The Safety Data Sheet is tied to the specific paint product and chemistry, not to the Pantone PMS 5757 U color itself. The same Pantone color can be made in different paint types, each with its own SDS.

After selecting the paint format you plan to order, locate the SDS in the SDS library for that specific product. This ensures you are reviewing the correct safety and handling information for the material you will actually use.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 5757 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 5757 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 5757 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

See our Primer Selection Table to see what primer you might need and learn more about when you might need a primer. Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 5757 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 5757 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
