PMS 566 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a standardized visual reference for brand, display, and design coordination. It conveys a soft, restrained blue-green vibe that reads as calm, airy, understated, and contemporary.
The color appears very light, with an LRV of 74.19. It leans cool with a noticeable blue influence, has low saturation, and shows a clean, slightly gray undertone that reduces visual intensity.
PMS 566 U works well where a light, unobtrusive color is needed to support graphics, typography, or branded elements without competing for attention. Its low saturation means surface preparation can affect uniformity, and compared to more saturated blue-greens it appears softer and more neutral, especially under bright lighting.
Similar colors:
PMS 565 U: slightly darker and more subdued, with increased gray influence.
PMS 564 U: darker overall with a more reserved, cooler appearance.
PMS 552 U: lighter and cleaner, with less gray and a fresher green-blue tone.

When approving PMS 566 U, compare samples under consistent lighting and on the same substrate whenever possible. Differences in lighting temperature or material can make the same color look lighter, darker, or more saturated.
Allow coatings to fully dry and cure before making a final judgment. Fresh paint can shift slightly as it dries, and evaluating too early can lead to incorrect rejection or approval.
PMS 566 U is a Pantone brand color reference, not a substrate-specific repair target. Pantone matching is best used for visual brand reproduction on displays, signage, and marketing components.
If you need a touch-up-grade result that blends into an existing painted part, sending a physical sample for custom matching is the correct path. That process matches the actual material, finish, and aging rather than only the Pantone color target.
Changing sheen can significantly affect how PMS 566 U is perceived, even when the color target is the same. Glossier finishes tend to appear deeper and more saturated, while matte finishes can look softer or lighter.
When reviewing samples, compare like finishes to avoid false color differences. A matte sample and a gloss sample can look like different colors even though both are matched to PMS 566 U.
For PMS 566 U spray paint, apply multiple light coats rather than one heavy coat. Thin, even passes help achieve more uniform color and reduce surface defects.
Allow appropriate flash time between coats so solvents can escape before the next layer. This approach supports more consistent color appearance and a smoother final finish when matching a Pantone brand color.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 566 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 566 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
