PMS 563 U is a Pantone PMS color defined within the Pantone Matching System and commonly specified for brand-controlled environments. It conveys a restrained, cool blue-green character with a composed, dependable, and understated visual presence.
The color presents a mid-range lightness with an LRV of 40.76 and reads as cool, leaning toward blue-green rather than true green. It shows moderate saturation and carries a soft gray-green undertone that helps reduce brightness and glare.
PMS 563 U works well in brand environments that need visual calm and consistency across signage, displays, and architectural elements. Uniform surface preparation helps maintain even tone, and finish and lighting can influence whether the color appears more blue or more green.
Similar colors:
PMS 562 U: slightly darker and more subdued, with increased gray influence.
PMS 564 U: lighter and softer, with a more relaxed blue-green appearance.
PMS 5565 U: more neutral and grayer, with reduced chroma and visual energy.

PMS 563 U is a Pantone brand color target often specified in brand standards for visual elements like signage, displays, and exhibit components. When a project calls for PMS 563 U, the goal is visual alignment to the Pantone reference rather than matching a previous painted surface. Because fabricated elements can use different substrates and finishes, it is important to evaluate the color on the actual material and under expected lighting. Ordering a sample first is recommended for high-visibility or approval-driven installations.
To order PMS 563 U, start by selecting the paint format that fits your application, such as spray paint or another available format used for branding and display work. Next, choose the sheen level and quantity needed for your project. PMS codes define the color target only, so you are making decisions about finish and product type during ordering. If appearance is critical, consider ordering a sample to confirm the match on your specific substrate before committing to full quantities.
Yes. PMS 563 U can appear noticeably different when applied in different sheens, even though the color target is the same. Glossier finishes usually look brighter and more saturated, while matte or flat finishes can look softer or slightly muted. This is a perception effect, not a color error. When matching brand expectations, compare samples in the same finish and view them under the lighting where the final piece will be used.
PMS 563 U, like many Pantone colors used for branding, may require multiple coats to achieve uniform coverage, especially over contrasting substrates. Planning for proper hide is important for a clean, even appearance on display or exhibit components. Using a suitable undercoat can help improve consistency and reduce the number of finish coats needed. Testing on the actual material is the best way to confirm coverage expectations before full production.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 563 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 563 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
