Pantone™ PMS 5527 U

Pantone PMS 5527 U is a visual color target, and the chosen finish can noticeably change how it looks after application.

Gloss finishes tend to reflect more light, which can make PMS 5527 U appear brighter and slightly more saturated. Satin or semi-gloss finishes usually balance brightness and depth. Matte finishes absorb more light, often making the same color read softer or slightly duller.

When appearance is critical, select the finish first and evaluate a sample in the actual lighting where PMS 5527 U will be viewed. The Pantone reference defines the color, but finish strongly affects perceived brightness and contrast.

Pantone PMS 5527 U can be ordered in several paint formats depending on how you plan to apply it.

Common options include custom spray paint for even coverage, paint pens for controlled markings, and brush-in-cap bottles for small parts or detail work. Other coatings such as epoxy, urethane, or interior or exterior housepaint may be available where appropriate.

Choose the format based on surface size, application method, and finish requirements. The color target remains PMS 5527 U, but the format determines how consistently and efficiently that color can be applied.

Pantone PMS 5527 U reorders are matched to the same Pantone reference, but visual consistency depends on controlling a few variables.

To keep results consistent, reorder the same product type and finish each time. Changing from spray paint to another format, or from satin to matte, can alter how the color appears even if the Pantone code is the same.

For high-visibility or brand-critical work, approving a sample from the first order and using that same reference approach for future runs helps manage expectations across batches.

Applying PMS 5527 U over larger surfaces requires planning to avoid visible variation.

Use consistent application techniques across the entire area, including spray distance, overlap, and coat thickness. Applying multiple even coats rather than heavy passes helps maintain uniform color and sheen.

Make sure the substrate is prepared evenly and avoid stopping and restarting in visible zones. Large areas should be evaluated under the same lighting conditions where PMS 5527 U will ultimately be seen.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
