PMS 4545 U is a Pantone PMS color identified as a light, muted yellow-green with a restrained and natural visual tone. It is often perceived as calm and subtle, making it suitable for brand environments that require visual softness rather than strong emphasis.

The color appears light, with an LRV of 70.03, and leans slightly warm due to its yellow-green hue. Its low saturation keeps the color subdued, while a gentle yellow-green undertone prevents it from reading as gray or dull.

PMS 4545 U performs best on smooth, well-prepared surfaces where uniform absorption can be controlled. Because it is light and softly chromatic, darker substrates or inconsistent preparation may show through, so priming and even application can help achieve consistent results under varied lighting conditions.

Similar colors:
PMS 453 U: slightly lighter and more neutral, with reduced yellow presence.
PMS 454 U: darker and a bit more grounded, with increased visual weight.
PMS 455 U: warmer and more yellow-forward, with greater color intensity.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 4545 U

What safety and VOC considerations apply when ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 4545 U?

Paints matched to Pantone PMS 4545 U are color matches, not a single standardized product. Safety, VOC content, and handling requirements depend on the specific paint type and format you choose, such as spray paint or liquid coatings.

Before use, review the Safety Data Sheet for the exact product you order and follow the manufacturer instructions for ventilation, personal protective equipment, and storage. Do not assume all Pantone matched paints have the same safety profile.

Is paint matched to Pantone PMS 4545 U returnable if the color or finish is not what I expected?

Paint matched to Pantone PMS 4545 U is custom made to order based on your selected product type and sheen. Because it is produced specifically for your order, it cannot typically be returned or exchanged.

To reduce risk, confirm the correct product format, sheen, and quantity before ordering. For high visibility or approval based projects, ordering a sample first can help verify appearance under your actual lighting and on your intended substrate.

How is Pantone PMS 4545 U typically used in brand and marketing applications?

Pantone PMS 4545 U is a brand color reference used to communicate a consistent visual target across vendors and materials. It helps ensure that displays, signage, prototypes, and branded environments align with established brand standards.

It is important to understand that a Pantone PMS code defines the color appearance, not the paint chemistry or finish. Perceived color can vary based on material, sheen, and lighting, so evaluating the match in context is often part of brand approval workflows.

How can I get help choosing the right paint type for a Pantone PMS 4545 U match?

If you are unsure which paint type is best for your Pantone PMS 4545 U project, MyPerfectColor can help guide the selection. Be ready to share the substrate, environment, exposure conditions, and desired finish.

Providing this information helps narrow down appropriate options and reduces the risk of ordering a product that does not meet your performance or appearance expectations.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 4545 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 4545 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 4545 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
