PMS 454 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a standardized reference for consistent color communication across vendors and materials. It conveys a restrained, calm, natural, understated, and contemporary visual character suited to background or secondary brand elements.
The color appears light, with an LRV of 64.08. It leans slightly warm between yellow and green, shows low saturation, and carries a subtle yellow-green undertone rather than a neutral cast.
PMS 454 U works well in brand environments where a light, approachable green tone is needed without high contrast or visual intensity. Its muted saturation can appear more washed in bright lighting or glossy finishes, so evaluating sheen and lighting together is important. As a lighter Pantone color, it may benefit from a light primer and multiple coats to achieve even coverage, especially over darker or uneven substrates.

PMS 454 U is a Pantone reference color, not a single paint formula. When it is reproduced as paint, the final appearance depends on the material it is applied to. Differences in surface texture, absorption, and reflectivity can change how light interacts with the color.
For multi-material projects, the safest approach is to evaluate PMS 454 U on the actual substrates used in the final build. Sampling on each material helps confirm that the visual match meets brand expectations before full production.
To order PMS 454 U, start by selecting the paint format that fits your application, such as spray paint or another available option. Next, choose the sheen and quantity based on how and where the color will be used.
Because PMS 454 U is a visual brand reference, confirm that your selected format and sheen align with your project needs. If the color will appear on a specific substrate or under controlled lighting, consider ordering a sample first to validate appearance.
Pantone books are printed reference standards, while paint is a liquid coating applied to a surface. When PMS 454 U is produced as paint, differences in sheen, film thickness, and substrate can cause it to look different from the book chip.
The Pantone book should be treated as the color target, not an exact predictor of painted appearance. For critical brand applications, evaluate a painted sample of PMS 454 U on the real material and under the lighting conditions where it will be seen.
If the goal is touch-up-grade accuracy to an existing painted or manufactured item, ordering by PMS 454 U alone is usually not sufficient. Pantone PMS colors are intended for brand color reproduction, not for matching aged or application-specific finishes.
In these cases, sending a physical part for custom matching is the most reliable path. This allows the match to be made directly to the real surface rather than to the Pantone reference, reducing visible differences in the final result.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 454 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 454 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
