PMS 4535 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a soft, low-chroma yellow-green with a restrained, contemporary feel. It conveys a calm, approachable vibe that can read organic, neutral-leaning, and controlled rather than vivid or energetic.

The color appears light in value, with an LRV of 60.32, and shows a slightly warm tendency within the yellow-green range. Its saturation is low to moderate, giving it a muted appearance with a soft yellow-green undertone that avoids strong hue dominance.

This color works well in brand environments that call for subtle color presence without strong visual dominance, such as large panels, background elements, or secondary brand fields. Because of its lightness and muted saturation, uneven surfaces, strong shadows, or high-contrast substrates may influence uniformity, so consistent surface preparation and priming can help maintain an even appearance.

Similar colors:

PMS 4525 U: slightly darker and more yellow, with a warmer overall impression.
PMS 453 U: lighter and more neutral, with reduced green presence.
PMS 4545 U: darker and more subdued, with less visual openness.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 4535 U

What does the 'U' mean in Pantone PMS 4535 U, and why does it matter when ordering paint?

In Pantone PMS 4535 U, the 'U' indicates the Pantone reference series used for the color target. Pantone colors can exist in multiple series or suffixes, and those references are not interchangeable. When ordering a Pantone matched paint, you should confirm that PMS 4535 U is the exact code specified in your brand standards or project documentation. Ordering the wrong suffix can result in a visible color difference, even if the numeric code looks similar.

Can Pantone PMS 4535 U paint be used on plastic parts or low-surface-energy materials?

Pantone PMS 4535 U can be matched into paints suitable for many substrates, but plastics vary widely in surface chemistry. Some plastics and low-surface-energy materials may require a specific primer or adhesion promoter to ensure proper bonding. Always test the PMS 4535 U paint system on the actual plastic you plan to use before production, and confirm that the primer and paint combination meets your adhesion and durability expectations.

Should I expect multiple coats to achieve full coverage with Pantone PMS 4535 U?

Coverage and hide depend on the specific Pantone color, the substrate, and the paint format. Some Pantone colors may require additional coats to achieve a uniform appearance, especially over dark or uneven substrates. When working with PMS 4535 U, plan to test coverage on your actual surface so you can confirm the number of coats needed to meet visual expectations before final application.

How should I plan shipping and transit time when ordering Pantone PMS 4535 U paint?

Shipping and transit time for Pantone PMS 4535 U paint depends on your location, the selected shipping method, and current carrier conditions. Custom color orders should be scheduled with enough lead time to account for both production and transit. If your project has a fixed installation or launch date, it is best to plan conservatively and place the order early to avoid timing risks.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 4535 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 4535 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 4535 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 4535 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 4535 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
