PMS 4495 U is a Pantone PMS color in the olive-green range with a restrained, utilitarian visual tone. It conveys an earthy and grounded appearance that avoids brightness and high contrast, supporting brand systems that favor subtlety.

The color has a low lightness, with an LRV of 16.03, and leans warm due to its yellow-influenced green bias. It appears moderately saturated, reading controlled rather than vivid, with an olive undertone that can shift between green and brown depending on lighting.

PMS 4495 U performs well on brand backdrops, exhibit components, and signage where reduced glare and visual weight are important. Because of its depth, consistent surface preparation and even application can help avoid patchiness, and primer choice may influence uniformity. Sheen and lighting conditions can noticeably affect whether the color reads greener or browner in the finished installation.

Similar colors:

PMS 4485 U: slightly darker and more subdued, with a heavier brown influence.
PMS 4505 U: lighter and a bit more open, with reduced visual density.
PMS 5743 U: cooler and more distinctly green, with less brown undertone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 4495 U

Why does licensed reproduction matter when ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 4495 U?

Pantone PMS 4495 U is a licensed color standard, not a paint formula. Accurate reproduction requires access to Pantone reference data and controlled conversion methods. MyPerfectColor is authorized to reproduce Pantone PMS colors, which helps ensure the paint you receive is matched to the correct Pantone target rather than an approximation.

This matters for brand-facing work where visual consistency is reviewed and approved. Using licensed reproduction reduces the risk of off-brand results across displays, signage, and marketing components.

How should I choose an interior or exterior paint type for Pantone PMS 4495 U?

Pantone PMS 4495 U defines the color appearance, not the paint chemistry. You should choose the paint type based on where the color will be used. Interior projects typically prioritize smooth appearance and controlled lighting, while exterior applications require coatings designed to handle weather and UV exposure.

Select the environment first, then order PMS 4495 U matched in a paint type suited for that exposure. This helps avoid performance issues while keeping the color aligned with the Pantone reference.

Why can Pantone PMS 4495 U look different under various lighting conditions?

The appearance of PMS 4495 U can shift depending on light source, intensity, and surrounding colors. Fluorescent, LED, and daylight all interact differently with pigments, which can change how the color is perceived.

For brand-critical applications, evaluate a sample of PMS 4495 U under the same lighting and viewing conditions where it will be installed. This step helps catch perception shifts before final production.

If I need part-to-part matching accuracy, should I rely on Pantone PMS 4495 U or send a physical sample?

Pantone PMS 4495 U is intended for brand color reproduction, not exact matching to an existing coated part. If your project requires the new paint to visually blend with an existing surface, the most reliable path is to send a physical sample for matching.

Using the Pantone code alone is best when the Pantone standard itself is the target. Sending a part allows matching to the actual material, aging, and finish of what is already in place.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 4495 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 4495 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Can I use the Pantone PMS 4495 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 4495 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
