PMS 399 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a standardized visual reference rather than a paint formula. It presents a bright yellow-green character with a lively, assertive presence, conveying energy, visibility, and contemporary brightness.
The color appears medium-dark in value with an LRV of 25.97. It reads as warm-leaning due to its yellow influence within the green range, and its high saturation gives it strong visual intensity.
PMS 399 U shows a yellow-forward green undertone rather than a neutral green. Its saturation can emphasize surface texture and inconsistencies, particularly in higher-sheen finishes.
PMS 399 U works well in brand-facing elements where strong visibility and color recognition are priorities, such as displays, signage components, and experiential environments. Coverage may require additional coats, and consistent priming can help achieve a more uniform appearance.
Lighting conditions and finish choice can noticeably affect how bright and green-forward the color appears, so reviewing a painted sample under installed lighting is recommended.

Ordering a Pantone PMS 399 U paint match means you are requesting paint mixed to visually match the Pantone PMS 399 U color target. Pantone PMS is a standardized color reference used for communication and approval, not a paint formula, coating system, or finish specification.
The resulting paint is matched to the visual appearance of PMS 399 U under standard viewing conditions. Factors like sheen, substrate, application method, and lighting can change how the color is perceived, so the match is to the Pantone reference, not to an existing painted surface or product.
Pantone PMS 399 U is available as custom spray paint and other paint formats for branding and display applications. Common options include spray paint, paint pens, and brush-in-cap bottles. Some coatings like epoxy, urethane, or interior/exterior housepaint may also be available depending on the application.
Choosing the right format depends on how the color will be applied, the size of the project, and the surface being coated. The Pantone color target is the same across formats, but application method and finish can affect the final appearance.
Sampling Pantone PMS 399 U is recommended for high-visibility brand projects, large installations, or any situation where formal brand approval is required. It is especially important when the color will appear under specific lighting or on multiple substrates.
Pantone colors can look different based on sheen and surface texture, and saturated colors may require additional coats for even coverage. A sample lets you confirm appearance and coverage before committing to full production.
Safety and VOC characteristics are determined by the specific paint product you choose, not by the Pantone PMS 399 U color itself. Each product type has its own handling, ventilation, and use requirements.
Always review the Safety Data Sheet for the exact product ordered and follow all recommended safety practices during storage, application, and disposal. This ensures safe use regardless of the Pantone color being matched.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 399 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 399 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
