Color summary PMS 398 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a precise visual reference in brand and marketing contexts. It conveys a bright, energetic, and attention-forward presence with a fresh yellow-green character that reads clearly at a distance.
Color characteristics The color appears medium-light with an LRV of 34.06 and leans warm between yellow and green. It shows high saturation with a yellow-forward green undertone that increases visual impact. In higher-sheen finishes, the color can appear more intense.
Practical application PMS 398 U works well when visual impact and brand recognition are priorities, especially on smooth, well-prepared surfaces. Due to its high saturation, it may require additional coats for even coverage, and a light or white primer can help support color clarity. Lighting and finish selection can noticeably influence brightness, so evaluating a sample under intended conditions is recommended.
Common uses This color is specified for branded signage, display components, and exhibit graphics where visibility is important. It is also used in marketing installations and temporary brand environments that require strong color recognition.

Pantone PMS 398 U is a licensed color standard used to communicate an exact visual target. Licensed and authorized reproduction means the match process is based on Pantone reference data rather than an unofficial conversion.
This matters for brand-facing work where visual consistency is critical. Using an authorized Pantone PMS match reduces the risk of avoidable hue or saturation shifts when the color is applied to paint for displays, signage, or marketing installations.
Pantone PMS 398 U defines a color target, not a paint product or finish. Choosing the right paint type depends on where and how the color will be used.
If you are unsure, contact MyPerfectColor with details about the substrate, indoor or outdoor exposure, handling needs, and desired finish. This information helps determine which paint format is appropriate for achieving a reliable visual match to PMS 398 U.
No. Pantone PMS 398 U is not recommended as a touch-up specification. Pantone references do not define the original coating chemistry, sheen, film build, or substrate conditions of an existing surface.
Because of these variables, using PMS 398 U as a proxy for touch-up work can result in visible differences even if the color target is accurate. Pantone PMS colors are best used when the Pantone standard itself is the intended visual reference.
Yes. Expedited production is typically offered as an option during checkout for Pantone PMS 398 U paint orders.

Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 398 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
