PMS 2695 U is a Pantone PMS color defined as a very dark purple with a cool, controlled visual character. It conveys seriousness and visual weight, making it suitable for branded environments that rely on depth and restraint rather than brightness.

The color has an LRV of 2.3, placing it among very low-lightness colors. It leans cool with a subtle blue-violet tendency, remains strongly saturated, and carries a deep violet undertone that becomes more noticeable under brighter lighting conditions.

PMS 2695 U performs well on brand-facing displays, signage, and fabricated components where a dark purple is specified by brand standards. Because of its depth and saturation, careful surface preparation, appropriate priming, and multiple thin coats can help achieve even coverage and consistent appearance, with finish and lighting significantly affecting perceived depth.

Similar colors:
PMS 269 C: slightly lighter and more open, with increased violet clarity.
PMS 2685 U: darker and cooler, with a more subdued purple character.
PMS 2617 U: lighter and less visually dense, with a softer purple appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2695 U

Why can PMS 2695 U look different under various lighting conditions?

PMS 2695 U is defined by a Pantone reference, but how it appears depends on the light source and viewing environment. Different lighting can emphasize or mute certain undertones, which can change the perceived depth or saturation.

For accurate evaluation, view PMS 2695 U under the same lighting where it will be installed or displayed. This helps reduce surprises during approval and ensures the painted result aligns with brand expectations in real use.

What is the recommended way to apply PMS 2695 U spray paint for consistent coverage?

PMS 2695 U is a saturated Pantone color, which means coverage can build gradually. Apply multiple light coats rather than one heavy coat to improve uniformity and reduce the risk of runs or uneven texture.

Allow each coat to flash off before applying the next. Exact timing varies by conditions, but the surface should lose its wet look before recoating. This approach supports better color development and a smoother finish.

How should I compare PMS 2695 U to a Pantone reference during color approval?

When approving PMS 2695 U, compare the painted sample to the Pantone reference under consistent lighting and at a similar viewing angle. Differences in light temperature or shadows can affect perceived color.

Evaluate the color on the same or a similar substrate and allow the coating to dry fully before making a final judgment. Early comparisons on wet paint can lead to incorrect conclusions.

What should I know about shipping timelines when ordering PMS 2695 U paint?

Shipping transit time for PMS 2695 U paint depends on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. Transit time is separate from production time.

If your project has a fixed deadline, plan ahead and allow buffer time for both production and shipping. This is especially important for brand-critical work that requires review or approval upon arrival.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2695 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2695 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 2695 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 2695 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2695 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
