PMS 2645 U is a Pantone PMS violet that sits between lavender and purple, conveying a cool, modern, and expressive vibe with a clean, contemporary feel suitable for brand-driven environments.
The color reads as a medium-light violet with an LRV of 34.06 and has a cool tendency with a noticeable blue-violet bias. It shows a moderately high saturation that gives it clarity without appearing fluorescent, and it carries a soft lavender undertone that keeps it from feeling heavy or dark.
PMS 2645 U works well on smooth, well-prepared surfaces where color clarity is important, such as panels, props, or display components. Its moderate saturation means it may benefit from a light-colored primer to support even coverage, especially over darker substrates. Lighting conditions can shift the color toward bluer or softer lavender notes, so evaluating a painted sample in place can help confirm appearance.
This color is often used for branded displays and graphic elements where a distinctive violet is required. The color also appears in marketing installations and experiential environments needing a recognizable purple tone.

PMS 2645 U is defined by Pantone as a color reference, not a paint formula. A Pantone book shows the target color on printed paper under controlled conditions. When that color is mixed into paint, the appearance can shift based on sheen, substrate, and application method.
Expect some visual difference between the Pantone book chip and painted PMS 2645 U, especially on non-paper materials. To reduce risk, apply a sample of the actual paint to the real substrate and review it under your project lighting before ordering production quantities.
PMS 2645 U can appear to change depending on lighting type and viewing environment. Different light sources such as daylight, LED, or fluorescent can shift how the color is perceived, and surrounding colors and surface texture also play a role.
Always evaluate PMS 2645 U under the same lighting where it will be used. Reviewing a painted sample on the final material and in the installed environment helps confirm acceptance before full production.
Choosing the right paint type for PMS 2645 U depends on the substrate, desired finish, and exposure conditions. The Pantone code defines the color target, but it does not specify the coating system or sheen.
If you are unsure, contact MyPerfectColor with details about the material being painted, whether it is indoors or outdoors, and your finish goals. This information helps determine the most appropriate paint option before you place an order.
When applying PMS 2645 U to metal or existing powder-coated parts, surface preparation is critical. Cleaning, scuffing, and proper priming can affect adhesion and final appearance.
Existing coatings, texture, and gloss level can also change how PMS 2645 U looks once applied. It is recommended to test the color on a prepared sample part to confirm visual acceptance before committing to a full run.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2645 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
