PMS 7630 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) standard color, used extensively in branded environments and visual marketing. This color reflects a deep, earthy red, associated with characteristics such as robust, grounded, muted, and visually assertive, yet not overly bright. Within the Pantone PMS system, it is specified for consistent reproduction across varied materials and surfaces.
PMS 7630 C appears as a dark, subdued red. The color has a very low LRV of 5.16, indicating a strong absorbance of light and a visually dense appearance. PMS 7630 C is warm, with an undertone reminiscent of brick or clay. The saturation level is moderate; the color is noticeably red without excessive vibrancy. The undertone maintains earthy, almost brownish notes, avoiding strong pink or purple shifts. The color can exhibit finish sensitivity; higher-gloss finishes may amplify its depth and saturation, while matte finishes may enhance its muted, sophisticated appearance.
PMS 7630 C performs well in settings requiring bold, visible branded color that is not overly bright or primary in appearance. It is suitable for signage, exhibit finishes, and environmental graphics where strong color presence with a grounded feel is required. Due to its low reflectance, ensure surfaces are properly prepared and primed to achieve even coverage; plan for additional coats if applying over high-contrast or absorbent substrates. The color may shift slightly in appearance depending on lighting—viewing and approval should always occur in final lighting conditions and sheen. Compared to similar reds, PMS 7630 C is less vivid and features a more restrained, earthy balance.

The durability of PMS 7630 C spray paint depends on surface preparation, selected topcoat, and the environment where the item will be used. For best results on signage or displays, ensure the substrate is clean and properly primed before painting. For outdoor or high-traffic locations, choose a spray paint formulation and topcoat appropriate for anticipated exposure and wear. If extended exposure to sunlight, moisture, or abrasion is expected, a protective clear topcoat is recommended for maximum durability. Matching the paint type to your environment will help achieve longer-lasting results and consistent brand color appearance.
Ordering a sample of PMS 7630 C is strongly recommended for large or highly visible brand projects, especially when lighting, substrate material, or finish will influence the perceived color. Sampling allows you to confirm that PMS 7630 C meets visual expectations under actual installation conditions. This is particularly important for new displays, permanent installations, or when approvals are required from brand teams. Testing on actual project materials can highlight any variation due to substrate absorption or sheen differences, reducing the risk of costly errors.
PMS 7630 C is often selected for signage, display, and exhibit fabrication because it is a Pantone brand-standard color. Using PMS 7630 C as specified ensures visual consistency with brand guidelines and helps align fabricated elements across different vendors or materials. Applying the same Pantone PMS code across projects maintains brand presence and recognition in marketing environments. To avoid unexpected results, especially on unfamiliar materials, sample the color on the actual substrate before final fabrication.
For large-area applications of PMS 7630 C, plan coats carefully and use consistent spray technique to avoid patchiness or uneven coverage. Because this deep, earthy red has a low LRV, it may require extra coats to achieve uniform color, especially over contrasting backgrounds or absorbent surfaces. Always prime substrates for improved consistency and coverage. Work in manageable sections, maintain a wet edge, and check appearance in the intended lighting to ensure even, brand-accurate results.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7630 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
