Pantone™ PMS 7574 C

PMS 7574 C is a Pantone standard used for specifying target color, but it does not include parameters for sheen, substrate, or application method. Because of this, using PMS 7574 C as a touch-up reference for existing products or finishes may result in visible variation. Matching the color alone does not account for differences in gloss or surface texture, so touch-up areas can stand out under different lighting or viewing angles. For ongoing projects or repairs, always assess touch-up using a standard sample of the actual finish and substrate whenever possible.

When applying PMS 7574 C to plastics or materials with low surface energy, adhesion can be a challenge. Different plastics vary in their ability to accept coatings, so it is important to identify the type of plastic and test the paint on a sample part. Some plastics may need a primer that is compatible with both the plastic and the selected finish. Always verify performance by applying PMS 7574 C to an actual sample in the intended environment before full production or installation to help prevent adhesion failures and ensure brand color consistency.

The finish you select for PMS 7574 C will change how the color appears in practice. Gloss finishes amplify warmth and increase perceived depth and brightness, while matte finishes make the color appear softer and more subdued. Satin falls between these extremes, balancing reflectance and richness. Always evaluate PMS 7574 C on the actual substrate and under project lighting conditions in the selected finish to understand its true visual impact and maintain brand standards.

PMS 7574 C can be ordered in formats such as custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and other coatings where available. The best choice depends on your application method and project requirements. Spray paint is suited for coverage of larger surfaces or displays, while paint pens and brush-in-cap bottles offer control for detail work, models, or brand prototypes. Consider the substrate, scale of use, and desired finish to select the most effective option for consistent brand presentation.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
