PMS 7558 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, a global specification standard in branding, marketing, and industrial design. This color has a bold, impactful appearance with a distinctly golden character, presenting a saturated and dynamic yellow with moderate light reflectance. The vibe is assertive, vibrant, businesslike, and professional, appropriate for environments where immediate color recognition and brand differentiation are important.

PMS 7558 C appears moderately dark for a yellow, with a light reflectance value (LRV) of 18.44. The color trends warm, featuring a pronounced golden-yellow hue. PMS 7558 C displays high saturation, resulting in strong visual presence and color intensity. This color demonstrates a notable orange-gold undertone, especially evident in full lighting. The perceived vibrancy of PMS 7558 C is sensitive to finish; gloss and satin finishes will intensify brightness, while matte applications may appear more muted.

PMS 7558 C is commonly used where visual prominence and memorable branding are priorities, particularly on displays, signage, and branded environments. It performs well in controlled lighting and on smooth substrates. For best results, test the color under intended project lighting and select a finish that aligns with desired vibrancy; gloss finishes amplify saturation, while matte will soften its visual impact. Coverage of this saturated yellow may require careful surface preparation and multiple coats, as is typical with high-chroma colors.

PMS 7406 C: Slightly lighter and brighter, with less pronounced gold undertone.

PMS 137 C: Warmer and more orange, providing higher chroma but reduced depth.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7558 C

How difficult is it to achieve an accurate match for Pantone PMS 7558 C in paint applications?

Pantone PMS 7558 C is a vivid, saturated golden yellow that can be challenging to match precisely across materials and finishes. Factors like lighting conditions, substrate type, and finish selection can all affect the final appearance. MyPerfectColor specializes in producing paints that closely align with the Pantone PMS 7558 C target, but users should be aware that bright colors like this may look different under various conditions. For critical applications or projects spanning multiple materials, confirm color appearance using physical samples under project lighting before final production.

What type of paint should I choose for PMS 7558 C for interior versus exterior branding projects?

When selecting PMS 7558 C for interior use, you can choose from a range of paints including spray paints and waterborne finishes designed for controlled environments. For exterior applications, select a paint specifically formulated for exterior durability to withstand sun, moisture, and temperature changes. Always match your paint type to the project''s exposure and durability requirements and consult product descriptions to confirm suitability for your intended use.

Why is it important to choose a licensed source for Pantone PMS 7558 C paint?

Pantone PMS 7558 C is a standardized reference color used globally for brand identity and marketing. Only licensed and authorized producers, like MyPerfectColor, can accurately reproduce PMS 7558 C according to Pantone specifications. Choosing a licensed source ensures your project achieves reliable, consistent color results aligned with your brand standards.

Will PMS 7558 C require extra coats or a special undercoat for full coverage?

PMS 7558 C is a bold, saturated yellow that often requires more coats for uniform coverage compared to less intense colors. This is especially important for brand-critical displays or high-visibility marketing installations.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7558 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
