PMS 7556 C is part of the Pantone PMS system, a color standard widely used across branding, signage, and display environments. The color conveys an earthy, muted, and restrained vibe. It is often described as grounded, neutral, and understated, with a subtle warmth. The Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 28.64 indicates a moderately dark tone, contributing to its robust presence on a variety of substrates.
PMS 7556 C presents as a moderately dark brown (LRV 28.64). The color has a gently warm tendency, influenced by a yellow-olive hue angle. It displays moderate chroma, yielding a subdued earthiness rather than high saturation. Undertones are distinctly olive and muted, which helps avoid red or orange overtones common in some browns. The color’s perceived depth and neutrality can be affected by finish selection and surrounding colors, especially under warm or directional lighting.
PMS 7556 C is often used in brand palettes seeking a natural, organic look, especially for food, beverage, agribusiness, and outdoor sector branding. The color is commonly specified in print applications for packaging, wayfinding, and branded environmental graphics to evoke reliability and connection to earth tones.
PMS 7556 C works well when a natural, understated brown is needed without significant red, orange, or gray shifts. Its muted olive undertone contributes to a stable, grounded effect, making it suitable for background fields, supportive brand accents, or substrates where a warmer neutral is required. Users should check the finished appearance under both daylight and artificial lighting to confirm the undertone behavior, as different sheens may enhance or dull its natural warmth. Coverage is typically stable, but as with most mid-dark colors, lighter substrates may require additional coats for full opacity.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

PMS 7556 C paint is formulated to match the Pantone reference, but there are important factors to consider. Pantone books use ink on paper as a reference standard, while paint color can look different on various substrates and sheens. The appearance of PMS 7556 C paint may vary under different lighting and when applied in gloss, satin, or matte finishes. To confirm visual alignment, always compare a painted sample of PMS 7556 C in your chosen finish and lighting directly against a physical Pantone guide. This helps ensure that your project meets brand expectations before full production.
PMS 7556 C paint is made to order to ensure color accuracy for brand and marketing projects. Standard lead time depends on the paint format, such as spray paint or liquid paint, and current production volume. Most orders for PMS 7556 C ship within a few business days, but complex or large orders may require additional time. If your project is time-sensitive, consider contacting customer service to confirm current lead times before ordering.
When using PMS 7556 C for prototypes or concept models, selecting the right paint format is important for accurate brand visualization. Spray paint is often chosen for quick, even coverage on model surfaces, and other formats like paint pens or bottles may be useful for details or small areas. Test painted samples of PMS 7556 C on the actual prototype materials and review the results under the lighting your final product will use. This approach ensures that decision makers see the color as intended and supports effective brand alignment in design reviews.
A standard spray can of PMS 7556 C typically covers about 20 square feet per coat on a smooth, primed surface. Actual coverage will vary based on the surface texture, application technique, and number of coats needed for full opacity. Because PMS 7556 C is a mid-dark brown, lighter or porous substrates may require extra coats. Plan your order by measuring the total surface area, multiplying by the expected number of coats, and rounding up to allow for any overage or practice. When in doubt, testing coverage on a sample area can help you determine the right quantity for your project.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7556 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
