Pantone PMS 2344 C is part of the Pantone PMS system, widely used for branding, industrial design, and marketing applications where precise color consistency is critical. The color registers as a cool, vivid, and contemporary teal-blue that is neither muted nor overly bright. Its visual presence is clean, modern, and assertive, providing enough chromatic impact for display and signage use while offering versatility across different media. The color’s midrange lightness and balanced saturation contribute to a clear, purposeful, and visually stable appearance.

PMS 2344 C has a light-medium appearance, with an LRV of 35.31.

The color exhibits a definitively cool tendency due to its blue-green hue.

The saturation is high, resulting in a clean and vivid look without appearing fluorescent.

The undertone is predominantly teal, suggesting a blend of blue and green with neither direction dominating.

The color may show moderate finish sensitivity; gloss levels will influence perceived depth and intensity.

PMS 2344 C performs best where a brand or display color must remain reliably consistent and visually strong across various materials. Given its moderate lightness, it maintains legibility and contrast on both light and dark substrates. Saturated mid-tone colors such as this may require additional paint coats for uniform coverage, particularly over high-contrast surfaces. Lighting conditions and finish (matte vs. gloss) can significantly influence perceived vibrancy and depth, so sampling under final conditions is advised. It sits between lighter and deeper blues and teals, holding its color stability without shifting toward gray or overly bright aqua tones.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 2392 C: Exhibits a lighter and less saturated blue-green, appearing softer and less assertive.
  • PMS 7713 C: Is darker and leans further into green, giving a deeper and more muted teal impression.
  • PMS 3265 C: Displays a more chromatic, brighter aqua compared to the balanced saturation of PMS 2344 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2344 C

What does it mean to order Pantone PMS 2344 C in paint form?

Ordering Pantone PMS 2344 C as paint means you are requesting a color match to the standardized Pantone PMS 2344 C visual reference. This specifies only the color target and is not a formula or manufacturing process. Paints matched to PMS 2344 C aim to reproduce the appearance of the Pantone swatch, but actual results may vary depending on substrate, finish, and lighting. Always confirm if your application demands precise brand alignment or formal sign-off on color appearance.

Are there special steps needed when using Pantone PMS 2344 C paint on plastic or low-energy surfaces?

Applying Pantone PMS 2344 C paint to plastics or low-energy surfaces usually requires additional preparation. Many plastics do not allow strong paint adhesion unless you first use an appropriate primer made for that material. Different plastics behave differently, so it is essential to test the paint and primer system on your actual substrate before full production. This helps ensure that both color and durability meet your project's requirements.

How should I use Pantone PMS 2344 C in prototypes or concept models for brand alignment?

When using Pantone PMS 2344 C for prototypes or concept models, select the paint format that matches your material and evaluation process, such as spray paint or brush-in-cap bottles. Apply the color to representative materials or sample boards under the lighting conditions where the final product will be viewed. This allows you to confirm if the color appearance supports your intended brand image before committing to production.

Should I choose matte or gloss for my Pantone PMS 2344 C brand application?

For Pantone PMS 2344 C, the choice between matte and gloss finish impacts both appearance and perception of color. Gloss finishes increase visual punch and saturation, while matte reduces glare and produces a softer look. Consider where and how your display or component will be viewed. For high-visibility branding or under bright lighting, sampling both finishes will help determine which supports your visual goals and maintains accurate brand consistency in real-world conditions.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 2344 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
