PMS 2320 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS), used extensively in professional branding, marketing, and industrial design settings where precise color communication is essential. This color presents a robust, assertive, and contemporary vibe, with a technical edge and a bold visual character. It is visually strong, operates at a low light reflectance level, and stands out dramatically in most visual contexts.

PMS 2320 C appears distinctly dark and bold, with an LRV of 8.01 indicating low reflectivity. The color demonstrates a cool yellow-green hue, informed qualitatively by its position near the yellow-green transition. This color maintains high saturation, resulting in a visually powerful and vivid appearance. The undertone is decisively green, leaning toward an acidic or synthetic character rather than an earthy one. PMS 2320 C is sensitive to finish, with gloss or satin finishes amplifying its vibrancy, while matte finishes may mute its perceived intensity.

PMS 2320 C is often specified in branded display environments for point-of-purchase materials and retail fixtures where high visual impact is desired. This color is used in exhibit and event design to signal innovation or draw attention to wayfinding and feature areas.

PMS 2320 C functions well in controlled lighting environments where its saturation and low reflectance enhance contrast against lighter or more neutral surroundings. Careful consideration should be given to surface preparation and the number of coats, as high-chroma colors like PMS 2320 C may show lower hide and require additional paint for uniform appearance. Its color shifts meaningfully with lighting type and angle, and its vibrancy can be influenced by the selected finish; always test with a sample panel in the intended context before full application.

Similar colors:
PMS 2270 C: Slightly lighter and more chromatic, with a cleaner, fresher yellow-green tendency.

PMS 7744 C: Darker and less saturated, appearing more muted and olive-toned.

PMS 369 C: Lighter and somewhat warmer, with a more conventional and less synthetic green hue.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2320 C

What safety and VOC considerations should I expect when using Pantone PMS 2320 C paint products?

Safety requirements and VOC content for Pantone PMS 2320 C paint depend on the specific product type ordered, such as spray paint, brush-in-cap, or industrial finishes. Always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for your selected PMS 2320 C format before use. Follow recommended ventilation, personal protective equipment, and handling practices for the product and application environment. If you need VOC limits or compliance information, check the product specification details or request additional information prior to ordering.

How should I prepare surfaces before applying Pantone PMS 2320 C for brand projects?

Proper surface preparation is key to achieving accurate, consistent PMS 2320 C results. Start by cleaning and degreasing the substrate to remove dust, oils, or residues. Where appropriate, lightly scuff glossy or hard surfaces to promote adhesion. Make sure the surface is dry and free of contaminants before painting. Because PMS 2320 C is highly saturated and may have lower hide, testing a sample on your actual substrate is recommended to confirm coverage and color appearance before full application.

Can I convert Pantone PMS 2320 C to an exact color in another paint brand or collection?

Pantone PMS 2320 C does not reliably convert to other paint company colors because each brand uses unique formulas and pigments. Vivid and saturated hues like PMS 2320 C are especially difficult to match precisely across collections. If your project requires authentic branding, specify PMS 2320 C as the standard and use a dedicated match product rather than substituting cross-reference formulas.

How can I use sampling of Pantone PMS 2320 C to streamline brand approval workflows?

For projects where visual accuracy of PMS 2320 C is critical, order a small sample in your intended product format and apply it to the actual substrate. Review the sample under your installed lighting conditions and confirm acceptance before moving forward with larger orders or final builds. This approach reduces risk by verifying that PMS 2320 C meets brand standards for color and appearance in your specific environment.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2320 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2320 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 2320 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How much area will one spray can cover? And what is Pantone PMS 2320 C spray paint made of?

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 2320 C. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. Do I need a primer for Pantone PMS 2320 C?
The need for primer for Pantone PMS 2320 C depends on the type of paint, the substrate being painted and where it will be located. See our Primer Selection Table to see what primer you might need and learn more about when you might need a primer. Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 2320 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2320 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
