PMS 2111 C, part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, is a deep, vivid purple notable for its strong visual presence and technical precision. Its appearance communicates energy and modernity, while the color’s moderately high chroma and low light reflectance value signal a saturated and assertive tone. PMS 2111 C is frequently described as bold, contemporary, confident, and impactful, making it suitable for situations demanding a memorable brand or environmental accent.

PMS 2111 C presents as a dark shade, with an LRV (light reflectance value) of 8.26, indicating low reflectivity. The color has a cool undertone, due to its hue position in the purple/violet region. It exhibits moderately high chroma, resulting in saturated, vivid color intensity that stands out in most viewing conditions. The cool purple undertone delivers a sense of modernity and sophistication. The color’s deep saturation makes it sensitive to differences in gloss and finish; high-gloss finishes can increase perceived vibrancy, while matte finishes may subdue its effect.

PMS 2111 C works well in branding, marketing, and display contexts where a distinctive, deep purple accent is required. It performs most consistently when specified in controlled environments with appropriate lighting, as its low LRV can cause it to appear even darker under ambient or indirect light. When using this color in paint, be alert for finish sensitivity: gloss increases visual depth, while matte lessens vibrancy. Uniform, properly prepared surfaces are important to avoid highlighting possible inconsistencies, as saturated purples tend to amplify application defects more than less chromatic colors.

Similar colors:
PMS 2107 C: Slightly lighter and less saturated, offers a less intense, more understated alternative.

PMS 2109 C: Somewhat warmer and marginally brighter, introducing subtle red notes compared to PMS 2111 C.

PMS 2096 C: A cooler, bluer purple, appearing more technical and less dramatic than PMS 2111 C.

PMS 2108 C: Darker and more muted, with reduced chroma for a softer and less prominent effect.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2111 C

How is Pantone PMS 2111 C typically used in brand or marketing applications?

Pantone PMS 2111 C is a deep, vivid purple that is frequently chosen for brand, marketing, and display contexts where a memorable accent is needed. It is specified by creative teams for logos, event elements, or environmental branding, especially when visual impact and modernity are important. PMS 2111 C performs best when consistency and color accuracy are central to the experience, such as for prototype builds, display fabrications, and branded installations where the Pantone color reference is the target. It is not intended for touch-up or maintenance work.

What is the typical production lead time for Pantone PMS 2111 C paint orders?

Paint matched to Pantone PMS 2111 C is made to order to ensure the most accurate brand result. Lead times depend on the product type and current production volume, but most spray paint and related formats usually ship within a few business days. For large or complex orders, allow additional time to accommodate mixing and quality checks. Expedited production or shipping may be available for projects with tight deadlines.

How does surface texture affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 2111 C paint?

Pantone PMS 2111 C is a saturated purple that is sensitive to changes in surface texture. A smooth, high-gloss surface can make PMS 2111 C appear more vibrant and deeper, while a matte or textured surface will make it look more subdued or even darker. Uneven or rough surfaces can accentuate application defects, which are more noticeable with such a bold color. For visually consistent results, make sure surfaces are properly prepared and choose the sheen carefully based on your brand requirements.

What should I know about using Pantone PMS 2111 C on plastics or low-energy surfaces?

When applying Pantone PMS 2111 C paint to plastics or other low-energy materials, adhesion can be a challenge. Many plastics need a specific primer or surface preparation for proper bonding. It is strongly recommended to test PMS 2111 C paint on your actual plastic substrate before full production. This ensures that the color, finish, and adhesion meet brand expectations and project requirements.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2111 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2111 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2111 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
