PMS 2011 C

PMS 2011 C belongs to the Pantone PMS system and is frequently referenced in graphic, marketing, and industrial applications. The color gives a bold, saturated impression with a moderately bright appearance. Its vibe is energetic, lively, modern, and attention-grabbing, but not fluorescent or neon. The color’s visual style is appropriate for display components or environments that aim to stand out without overwhelming surrounding elements.

PMS 2011 C displays a medium-light appearance, with an LRV of 41.69. The color has a distinctly warm tendency, leaning toward yellow-orange. PMS 2011 C is notably saturated, contributing to its vivid character. The undertone is yellow with a clear orange emphasis, minimizing muddiness. This color can be finish sensitive; gloss or satin finishes will amplify vibrancy, while matte finishes may mute intensity.

PMS 2011 C works well for situations where a vibrant, warm yellow-orange is required to provide visual energy or high-visibility without straying into fluorescent territory. Evaluate the color under intended lighting conditions and finish to ensure the desired effect, as both factors have a pronounced impact on perceived brightness and saturation. For brand-critical projects and large-scale applications, substrate and surface preparation should be carefully controlled, as inconsistencies can affect color uniformity and coverage due to the moderate lightness and strong chroma of the hue.

Similar colors:
PMS 1505 C – More chromatic and slightly more orange, producing a stronger orange impression.

PMS 143 C – Lighter and less saturated, tending more toward a soft yellow-orange.

PMS 2026 C – Brighter and more fluorescent, with greater visual intensity and a less conventional appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2011 C

How should I use Pantone PMS 2011 C for accurate brand color evaluation in prototypes or concept models?

When using PMS 2011 C in a prototype or concept model, choose a paint format that matches your substrate and application method, such as spray paint or paint pens for display models. Evaluate PMS 2011 C under the lighting conditions and finish expected in the final environment, since appearance can shift depending on both factors. For brand-critical reviews, consider applying to a test panel first to confirm color alignment before finalizing your prototype.

Should I use a matte or gloss finish for Pantone PMS 2011 C in a brand application?

The finish you choose for PMS 2011 C has a direct effect on visual impact. Gloss and satin finishes will increase the color's vibrancy and saturation, which is often preferred for attention-grabbing brand displays. However, gloss can introduce glare, especially under strong lighting. Matte finishes reduce glare but may soften the color's intensity. Consider the viewing distance and lighting of your application: use gloss or satin for maximum punch in well-lit spaces and matte if you want reduced sheen and less reflected light.

What coverage and hide factors should I expect with Pantone PMS 2011 C?

PMS 2011 C is a vivid, saturated yellow-orange that may require additional coats to achieve uniform coverage, especially over dark or uneven surfaces. Highly chromatic Pantone colors like this can have lower hide than less saturated shades. Plan for extra material and allow sufficient drying time between coats to ensure color consistency, particularly for brand-critical projects or larger display components.

When is it appropriate to specify a standard Pantone PMS 2011 C match for my project?

Order a standard PMS 2011 C match when your application needs to align to a Pantone reference, such as for signage, display, exhibit components, prototypes, or brand-facing marketing projects. Standard matches are the right choice when visual accuracy and brand consistency matter more than matching a specific substrate or legacy finish. For high-visibility installations or when working across multiple materials, always confirm color results with a sample if your project requires formal brand approval.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2011 C?

Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2011 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
