PMS 8321 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, classified specifically as a metallic color type. The color exhibits a moderately deep and saturated green appearance, with a noticeable metallic sheen that can elevate visual impact in specified branding, signage, or display settings. The overall vibe is technical, bold, expressive, and specialized, supporting creative direction in contexts requiring both vibrancy and a visibly metallic quality.
PMS 8321 C presents as medium-dark in value (LRV 23.91), contributing to a strong presence in most applications. The color leans slightly cool, reflecting a green hue with subdued yellow influence. PMS 8321 C has moderate to high saturation, resulting in a vivid appearance intensified by the metallic finish. The undertone is cool green, lacking noticeable blue or yellow bias beyond the primary hue. The metallic finish is integral to the appearance and will show surface sensitivity; gloss and lighting angle strongly impact perceived brightness and depth.
PMS 8321 C works especially well for brand, display, and environmental applications that require both strong visibility and a metallic effect, such as retail displays, trade show components, or specialty marketing installations. Careful attention should be given to substrate preparation and finish consistency; metallic paints can highlight surface imperfections and may appear uneven if not applied with appropriate technique. Lighting plays a significant role in how the metallic quality is perceived, and results may vary widely between direct and diffuse illumination. Compared to non-metallic greens in the PMS collection, PMS 8321 C delivers a distinct shimmering effect and greater reflectivity, but can be less forgiving with regard to coverage and requires careful handling to achieve uniformity.
Similar colors:
PMS 8331 C – A similar metallic green, but slightly lighter and more yellow, yielding a warmer effect with increased brightness.
PMS 348 C – A standard (non-metallic) green, darker and less visually active, for applications needing a flatter and more traditional appearance.
PMS 3288 C – A deep, cool green that is less saturated and without metallic pearlescence, for projects emphasizing understated or subdued branding.

PMS 8321 C, as a metallic Pantone color, is especially sensitive to substrate differences. Factors like material absorption, surface texture, and reflectivity all impact how the metallic green tone appears. For example, gloss and lighting will strongly affect perceived brightness and depth with metallic finishes. Smooth, non-porous materials usually enhance metallic sheen, while textured or absorbent surfaces can mute the effect or make coverage uneven. Always evaluate PMS 8321 C on the actual material that will be used in your project to ensure brand consistency and the expected visual result.
PMS 8321 C is available in several paint options to support branding, display, and marketing uses. Formats include custom spray paint, paint pens, and brush-in-cap bottles, as well as select coatings such as epoxy, urethane, and interior or exterior housepaint depending on your project needs. Choose spray paint for displays or signage needing an even, metallic finish over larger areas. Opt for paint pens or brush-in-cap bottles for detail work or small components. When using PMS 8321 C on high-visibility brand projects, consider the final environment and lighting, as the metallic effect can vary by substrate and application method.
The durability of PMS 8321 C spray paint depends on proper substrate preparation, choice of paint chemistry, and intended environment. Metallic finishes like PMS 8321 C can highlight surface imperfections and may require careful priming. For best results, use an appropriate primer and consider a clear topcoat to add protection, especially in high-touch or outdoor settings. Select the paint type according to exposure: choose more durable systems when the painted surface will face handling or weather. Always review product specifications before ordering to ensure long-term brand consistency and finish performance.
The SDS for paint products in PMS 8321 C is determined by the type of paint or coating, not the color code itself. To locate the correct SDS, first identify the specific product format you are ordering (such as spray paint, paint pen, or other coatings). Then consult the SDS library provided by the manufacturer or supplier for that product. Always review the relevant SDS before use to confirm compliance and safe application in your environment.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 8321 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
